So the other day I decided I wanted to try some stuff that our natural sistas rave about after realizing that I pretty much just tex/lax my hair and not really bone relax it (well except for the ends when my stylist was doing it... :wallbash::ohwell:). I wanted to try the glycerin and water mix thing and see how my hair responds (especially because I've been doing braidouts and co-washing more lately. Needed to get at those curly roots).

I was lazy and picked up Care Free Curl Instant Moisturizing Spray which has glycerin, water, and wheat protein. For braidouts, it refreshes my hair and keeps it feeling light. Last night I had sprayed a bit on my ends and roots and then cross wrapped my hair, covered with a scarf and went to bed. At first I was a little scared because it kinda make my hair look like it was going to be all weighed down and greasy. When I undid my wrap this morning, my hair just FELL freely from the clips. It also had such a great shine to it, and didn't feel dry or anything, almost like I have nothing on at all. I love that naked hair feeling. I bumped the ends with my Carusos and my hair is very bouncy.

So yeah, you may want to give it a whirl if you're looking for a moisturizer that will not ruin a perfect fresh flat-iron.:yep:

(lol I sound like a commercial.):look:

Wow...i'd never have guessed it...i always see this stuff and think its in same family as s-curl:ohwell:

Did you say you had a lot of bounce? How much did you use? (slowly reaches for car keys to make a dash to the BSS)

Thanks for the tip! I always pass this in the bss  but I'll pick a bottle up next time to use when I do my bantu knot set again.

Hmmmm interesting. I'll keep this in mind as im looking for an all round moisteriser.

Do you think it's ok to use daily?

Wow, my mom used to keep a bottle on this on deck at ALL times when i was younger.

lol I have no idea what Jerry Curl Juice smells like LMAO :lachen: however, this seems to have a light smell if you stick your nose in the bottle, but no smell otherwise, lol.

For me the main ingredient that I was looking for was the glycerin/water mix because I am now severely minimizing my heat usage so that mostly means airdry/caruso roller set for me, so my tex/laxed hair isn't flat iron straight, and I decided to try something new. I reached for this stuff just to see what it would do to my flat ironed hair, and low and behold, it was good stuff.

It's super light so that's why it works for me, and I got a lot of great compliments today on my hair, soooooooo this is a keeper, lol.

I do actually spray this stuff on my hair now when it's wet after I wash it, and then add my leave-in and dry as usual. Additionally I spray my hair with it at night before braiding it up if I do a braidout, and now on my hair before cross-wrapping if it's flat-ironed...

I use this on my natural hair as a moisturizer or when I airdry. I tried it on my straightened hair but ended up with a weird film on my hair. If u try this put a little on your hands and gently rub it on your hair. It will revert your hair if u r natural and use too much. I use lekair olive oil creme on my wraps and that never weighs them down and my hair stays bouncy.

Heeeeeeey look, jheri curl juice ain't nothin but glycerin and water, lol
(and according to this bottle propylene glycol). Gosh now I feel like a nut job... (reaches for that juice to spray on this underprocessed section in the back here...):look:

Girl please... if it works for you.. ROCK IT OUT!! LOL. I think my dad might still have some at our house... :lachen: He used to buy like the gallon container of it..lol..

I would never have believed it either really, but this all stemmed from me wanting to do the whole glycerin and water thing but I was far too lazy to:

a. buy glycerin
b. find a container to mix the glycerin/water in
c. figure out what part glycerin and what part water goes in the bottle...

This is premixed, lol.
