how big are the pills? I cant swallow large pills.

Bree, they're not real big, they're swallowable (is that a word:perplexed ). Girl these flaxseed oil pills that I have are big:eek: and I make sure to drink alot of water when I'm taking them, to help ease the pills down;)

I used Viviscal in the past - I think for about 3 months. It was more than a growth agent in my opinion - my whole head of hair became stronger and had better elasticity, It was shiny and "swung" more. Not to mention I was getting about 2" a month in new growth. I'm definitely going to be taking these again.

Overall Viviscal has improved the strength, volume & elasticity to say the least. I've been taking Viviscal for 4 months. I'm about to finish the 4th box. I will continue to use this as a part of my vitamin regimen.

I wonder if you could take all the ingredients independtly and get the same results ( for cheaper)

Cartiligeous Marine Extract = amino acids/proteins
Acerola extract = Vitamin C
They give you More vitamin C
& then Silica compounds

i bet its mainly the protein, alot of women who increased their protein reported 1"-2" a month, never heard of vitamin c doing anything really spectacualr, and silica is always good

I used to take viviscal; made my hair grow shinier and my eyelashes longer too. I had to stop because something about that 'fish oil' or whatever was giving me huge pimples.

these are really expensive though, looking for a Good hair vitamin, how much are the UK ladies getting viviscal for and where do you get it from

I might have to order these vitamins, cuz I'm trying to get bsl by dec 09 or jan 10, I will have to finish hairfinity, but I might switch up anyway..

What's the ingredients, this is what I've found online so far:

300 mg

Acerola Extract

ETA:

Extremely rich in flavonoids: Helps reduce free radicals and offers inflammation support!. Promotes balanced uric acid levels!
How does NSI® Cherry Fruit Extract work?
Cherries are a source of flavonoids-natural compounds that help maintain capillaries, collagen, eyes, joints and arteries. The anthocyanidin and proanthocyanidin flavonoids in cherries also have antioxidant properties to help protect your body from the damaging effects of free radicals.

Flavonoids act as an anti-histamine (Histamine promotes inflammation.), and this is beneficial for those suffering from allergies or other inflammatory conditions. Flavonoids also strengthen collagen, the building blocks of connective tissue, by cross-linking the fibers themselves. This process then reinforces the web of connective tissue that includes tendons, cartilage, and other key structural tissues.

Finally, cherry fruit extract may reduce high uric acid levels in the blood.

NSI® Cherry Fruit Extract is better because it:

Comes in a concentrated 10:1 dose, so you receive a potent formula
Offers 1,000 mg of pure cherry extract—in just 2 capsules daily.

In my research I have found that anything that is good for your connective tissue is good for your hair...ie : MSM...this is a winner girls...

I was looking at the marine protein. This seems to be the ingredient that's missing from other hair vitamin formulas and I found marine protein capsules online for $14.95. Now will it be as effective taken with regular vitamins???

You may be on to something, if this is the 'main' active ingredient in viviscal... :yep: What was the mg amount for the capsules that you found online? I found a website that has 700mg of marine protein capsules for $35.00 and it has 300 capsules or for $14.95 it has 100 capsules.

http://www.nextag.com/Seagate--2700067/protein-capsule/brand-html

There are other websites that had smaller dosages such as 200mg and 300 mg of marine protein capsules as well...

We are so smart!!!! We can basically make anything in our kitchens or bath tubs!!!! Screw you beauty supply world!!! We know how to research and apply!

I tried this for about 3 or 4 months and it was nothing to write home about. I didn't notice longer hair or nails.

I get better growth results with Andrew Lessman, biotin, and a b-complex.

I need a cold towel on the forehead...any mention of handsome Andrew Lessman and I get faintlike! And he's a mother's boy??? :lachen:I was thinking of buying his vitamins. Do you go through HSN or other?

I tried it back when I didn't know what I was doing with my hair...I'm gonna join that challenge...tell me about Nioxin guys! I started another thread....leave me some info!

bumping: Did anyone take the marine protein complex with a regular multi vitamin and get results? Also do I need to get the cherry fruit extract as well, or will just a plain old vitamin c work?
