My New Half Wig

I decided to put my hair "away" for the winter. Was planning on cornrows, but then I saw my friend with a halfwig on and though it was her hair. I wanted one.

Yesterday I went to the Korean BSS and found one for $24.99 synthetic. I have it on now and I love it! I need to wave my hair up a little more to blend better. But it is sooo worth it. Now I can put my hair away without the bother of cornrows.

I parted it like 2inches in from the front. like 2 inches from my forhead. I had to pin it back because my hair is longer than the halfwig and it looked weird. But i like it pinned back. Its so lightweight and has a natural sheen. Not too shiny. I need to braid my hair up to create a wave so it blends better.

the back of my hair is in a single braid. I left enough out for bangs, but not much of my hair is actually out. Just the blondish pieces you see.

I Love it.....so light and was easy!
 
It looks really good. I decided to put my hair up. I lasted about two months. I have my hair out again. I will probably get braids next.

Tenjoy- do you get the your hair is too pretty and long to be wearing a weave comments?

NO, This is my first weave in like years and years and years. And I rarely ever get complements on my hair when its out....when I do its usually men. I dont even notice stares. I did get them when I was like BSL, but now not so much.

I don't believe it. Your hair is beautiful. I know you must get compliments. :grin:
 
Hey Question:

I like half wigs but do you think they are OK for everyday wear? Do you think your hair where the comb is will get damaged?

I hope not, cause I want to wear this just about everyday. Its doesnt feel like it is pulling, but i will pay attention to the comb....its one of those soft flexi kinda combs. I don't know, but that a good question.

Im serious. My grandmother asks me EVERYTIME she sees me which is more than weekly if thats my hair, and she is a tugger. But not any real attention, unless Im not noticing. I assume they must think its a weave. A tight umkempt looking bun one day then silky tresses the next...might seem kinda suspect :lachen:.
 
I love your wig.

I've been wearing half-wigs EVERYDAY since the first week in August. I plan to continue wearing them until I'm satisfied with my growth.

I haven't had any breakage as a result of the wig and my hair is thriving. I must say that its important to keep your hair moisturized and sealed. I usually do that twice a day.

If you don't want to use the combs you can remove them and use bobby pins to secure the wig.

I wear a half wig EVERY day. My advice is to take out the combs. At first you think your hair is fine, and then you start noticing broke pieces. I learned that from experience. I use the big bobby pins to pin mine on and it works just as well as the combs without pulling my hair.


Tenjoy your half-wig looks awesome! You should've gone for the gusto and got a really long one since you're hair is so long.
