Post your fingercoils and coil outs.
What products did you use?
What did you do for the stubborn parts that wouldn't coil? (wavy hair)
Lets go!

I just tried them for the first time today! As you can see, my bang section, I had to help out with a few straws. Other places in my hair would pop out mid coil as well, the root and the ends would still hold. Weird, but it's pretty annoying. I'm still waiting for these to airdry so that I can do a coil out.

Oh and I used BBD Glass (an old product of mine I just recently started using again) and coconut oil.

Hopefully I'll do some more soon, haven't done finger coils in a while.

for me about 2 hours at most...I do mine in sections, usually part in four and then go by each section, it goes faster for me that way.

As far as products I used at the time, either Healthy Hair Butter or Happy Nappy Styles or Curl Pudding...I was on a motion of experimenting with products..Now I use Shea Butter and I LOVE IT!!

i only did the front/sides and top (sue me, i got tired). i used miss jessie's curly pudding, sat under the dryer for 45 mins and separated. as you can see i dont know what to do with the ends cause i'm NOT cutting them.

I am going to try and do the finger coils when I have some time. It's going to have to be like on a Sat. doing the week will be to hard after work. How long do they usually last? Do you have to sleep cute?

This is what my fingercoils look like the last time I took pictures of them.

Pics of the finished 'do. It looks just like a straw set. I've never really been a fan of strawsets on myself, so I pulled it into a puff.

they last a good week or more if I choose when I do them, and I don't sleep cute, all I do is put my satin bonnet on and get to sleep....Daily moisturizing is the key to keeping this style for a week or more.

I love fingercoils, here are mine from about 2 months ago.

2006, grad school, paling around on campus; obviously having nothing to do. Perhaps I'll get out the beeswax and try again . . . NOT, 'sides I gave it away. Hmm, I am trying to think what I may have in my arsenal that would make them hold. You have NO IDEA what I went through back in the day to make my twists stay.

OMG that's gorgeous! After I did my finger coils I didn't know what the heck to do with it. I'll have to try this. What did you use to keep it up? Bobby pins?

so are you all literally using your fingers to do these coils? No combs? I guess that would be comb coils? Can we get a bit more detail on technique, cause the results on all these pics shared are gorgeous!
Thanks for sharing.
