okay, seriously i had some more bentonite pics in my fotki and i cant find them! so ill bentonite today and post them later.

BUT...rhassoul is conditioning, bentonite is clarifying (doesnt strip though, and leaves your hair baby soft)

Mucho gracias!
Have you ever used bentonite then rhassoul ONLY?

Oh so DONT do them the same day?

heck no!!! that is too much to do to your hair. there is such thing as too much of a good thing. keep them separately, especially if you dont know how either make your hair feel. id never mix henna, rhassoul, or bentonite in the same day.

or....say aphogee and then a rhassoul. ask me how i know....:ohwell:

What is Rhassoul and where does it come from?
From Morocco, comes this remarkable natural source, reddish brown cosmetic clay known as Rhassoul.
It has been used for over 1400 years as a soap, shampoo, and skin conditioner, and the finest spas across the globe currently utilize it for therapeutic benefits.
Mined deep beneath the Atlas Mountains in Eastern Morocco it must be extracted under extremely special conditions....
When first mined, Rhassoul clay appears as a polished brown, soap-like clay, which is chunky in appearance and resembling rocks. After further refinement and micronization, the end product is a smooth almost silken earth.

Bentonite Clay Profile

Origin- Wyoming/USA
Extraction- 100% naturally occurring and naturally quarry mined.....
Bentonite, also referred to as Montmorillonite, is one of the most effective and powerful healing clays used to treat both internal and external maladies. Bentonite can be used externally as a clay poultice, mud pack or in the bath and, in skin care recipes. Internally it can be added to water or glazed upon food to help those with sensitive palates. A good quality Bentonite should be a grey/cream color and anything bordering "pure white" is suspect.

I have used bentonite in internally as part of a cleansing detox. I only use Rhassoul externally. Most likely they are very similar. I use Rhassoul on my hair because I used to use Anita Grant's Rhassoul conditoner, so I'm partial.

Oh Empressri! Thank you so much for Posting this. I just purchased the Bentonite Clay a couple weeks ago and really didn't have a "clue" as to what I was going to do with it.:brainy:

I feel soooo much better after reading this. And I feel I can use it Properly and get good results. thank you, thank you, thank you.:worship2:

I wish they sold Rhassoul clay at whole foods. I would like to try it in place of bentonite clay because the bentonite clay strips my hair too much and I spend too much time trying to get it on balance. But I think I was using it incorrectly.

Exactly what she said. Off to pull the Bentonite out of the closet ...

YAY! I'm glad I found this post! Thanks EmpressRi and SuburbanBushBabe for your info. Very VERY helpful and I didn't know MRH sold it either! I think I want to try both (not at the same time of course)!

Thank you for this! I have bentonite but not, rhassoul.

How do you use it? If you don't mind posting!

Although I do not have a picture, I can honestly say that my hair looked so much better when I was using bentonite clay as a cleanser, followed by Aubrey GPB Conditioner and black tea as a leave-in conditioner. As soon as I can, I am going back to my old regimen to reclaim my hair.

I want to add that bentonite clay cleansed my hair gently. My hair felt very smooth after rinsing it out.

I've used both and prefer bentonite clay for my hair and rhassoul clay for my face. My hair comes out so ridiculously soft with bentonite clay, but rhassoul clay makes my hair feel funny and not as soft.
