Has anyone just grown out a relaxer and never BC'd I mean never! Like only dustings every so often like you would normally. If so why did you decide to do this? Also how did you maintain your hair?

The frist time I went natural I transitioned that way. Why? Because I did not want to BC. I wore my hair in braids, cornrows, buns flat twists, and flat ironed until all of the relaxed hair was gone and I was 100% natural. It took me about 14-16 months total.

I am transitioning with the BC or regular trims because I rock a weave...I personally love to curl and flatiron my hair way too much to be "natural" without a weave...

This is what I'm doing now. I trim a lil at a time and have no plans of doing a major cut. I shouldn't have to. The only time the ends get on my nerves is when I wear my WnGs, but it's about to be too cold for those anyway so I'm not even worried about it til spring. We'll see what I'm working with then but even with the small dustings/trims, I should be completely natural by spring. Maybe.

I started out at waist length hair. I had my hair cut to just below my shoulders. My hair is still just below my shoulders (as I get my hair trimmed about once a month to get rid of the relaxed ends). I've been transitioning for a year, so it looks like it'll be even longer because I want my natural hair (unstretched) to touch my shoulders before I remove all relaxed ends.

This is what I'm doing too. I'm transitioning without bc'ing. Since I'm always weaved up, it's making the transition so much easier. When I'm finally 100% natural, I'll probably still wear weaves occasionally to get different looks.
