I know for sure many ladies using either OCT or MT will get some very good results if they are consistent with it's application. If they're not getting fast growth, then they're either getting thicker or softer, more manageable hair:lick:. I am realizing that for myself right now and I've only been using MT for 2 months.

I have the complete MT set and the complete OCT set and I find that they really work better as a set. Applying once a week is not enough to have the amazing results that many of us are having with these products. Several times a week will reap much better results:yep:.

As an FYI to the MT users, as many of you already know, Friday, before I got my senegalese twists done, I used the MT Premier shampoo, diluted with water. Smells heavenly and lathers nicely. My hair felt very "clean". I even let it sit for 5 minutes before rinsing. Then, I used the MT Cell Rebuilder, put a hot towel (I microwaved a wet hand towl for 30 seconds...make sure you remove the tag off the towel...it melts and causes burns ...ask me how I know :lachen:) over my hair and covered with a plastic cap for the duration of my shower. Probably another 15 minutes. I rinsed, and my hair felt stronger. Then, I diluted the Avocado Mist with Water, Infusium 23 and the Aphogee Keratin Green Tea Restructurizer, and spray it on my hair and air dried. The Avocado works because for me because I diluted it with water. It is very potent, but smells wonderful. Very good products. Now, I just drench my twists (where my hair is) with my mixture, while using the Cell Builder (diluted with water only) on my scalp. Just figure I give you that update. Will take pics again next week to see where my progress is.

By the way, I use Emu Oil on my scalp first before applying the MT. Ladies, don't sleep on this oil. I have done EXTENSIVE research, and this is the stuff to have alone. IMO, no other oil is needed. The Emu Oil penetrates through the three layers of the skin..the Dermis, Epidermis and Subdermis, thus providing stronger hair growth. I love this oil. It does not leave your hair or skin greasy like most oils. I even use it on my face before I apply my moisturizer, and I have the oiliest skin!!! It penetrates, and does not leave a trace of oil on my skin at all!!! Even the gentleman at the Vitamin Shopped where I purchased it volunteered and said..."this is good stuff...I use it for my exzema and it's worked"!

I wanted to share this information with you, since you guys have shared so much with me so far. I purchased it from the Vitamin Shoppe on King Street in Alexandria (If you have one in your area, call first to make sure they have it. When I got to this Vitamin Shoppe, they only had 2 bottles left..the guy said they can't keep it on the shelf, so I purchased the last two!) So can you imagine the growth if this oil is able to penetrate through the three layers of the skin, then you have the MT going right along with it??? When you have a moment, google "Emu Oil for hair growth." I use this oil and this oil only.

If it hadn't been for the ladies on this forum, I would have never cared so much about my hair, (i.e., spending long hours doing extensive research on hair growth, etc.) I invested $6.00 for this forum, and to me, it was WELL worth it...best investment I've made so far. You can never go wrong with investing in yourself:yep:

I've heard good things about Emu Oil, but never got it, because my hair doesn't like oils. But you are perfectly right, it would be something wonderful to apply to the scalp!

*sigh*

*slaps down the inner PJ*

Ya'll gon make me have to go on the Buy Nothing challenge for another month. :lachen:

See Kiya...the key word is HAIR. You would apply it on the scalp and you only need a very small amount. I used purchased another color applicator bottle with the tiny spout on top, took the top from the applicator and applied it to the Emu Oil bottle. Trust me, it penetrates when you massage it in. When you check later on, there is no oil residue left on the scalp. Below is a quote from the website. I've included the link as well for those of you who are interested. Vitamin Shoppe carries this same brand. Out of all the research I have done, (I've spent DAYS and HOURS doing research via online and offline), this is the company that I chose. And remember, I use it on my face, and I have very oily skin. I mix just a small amount with my moisturizer.

As for the buy nothing challenge...trust me...I had to return something yesterday because it was a WANT and not a need....it hurt, but I had to in order to achieve my own a home dream.... But I made up for it and purchased a few pieces from Ann Taylor...they have a 70% off sale...and since I am a loyal customer, the clerk gave me an additional 20% off.....

Ladies... FYI

As most of you know, I've been using OCT (the 3 part system) since February. I've cut my hair 3 times since and I've had remarkable progress.

HOWEVER...

I ordered and received my first bottle of Mega Tek and it's giving me thicker results and faster.

I oil my scalp first then apply the Mega Tek straight to my scalp only. Cover with silk head wrap overnight and I do a 'Conditioner Wash' the next morning. I saw a difference in thickness in just two days.

I plan to stick with both the OCT and Mega Tek and interchange my use of them. I like the progress. :yep:

I promise you pictures as soon as I can take them. My mom just got out of the hospital and I've been with her for the last few days. As soon as I get 'settled', I'll take some pictures and post them for you.

Love and hugs to each of you, angels.

Hello Ladies,

I just started the MT last Wednesday and my hair is thicker than usual. I already have thick and coarse hair so believe I can tell the difference. I use the MT directly on my scalp as a grease. I tried oiling before hand but my scalp dries out that way. When I put the oil on after the MT I get more moisture. I baggy everynight. I have yet to use it as a conditioner. I amy try that on Wednesday when I do my weekly wash. Tonight I am doing a cowash with salerm 21.

Like the above poster, my hair is so thick. While I was applying the OCT I noticed a change immediately. My hair got even more thick. I can't really say that I saw growth though. So I stopped using it. By the way, I did not vote. Product definitely works, but I don't need thicker stronger hair. I WANT LONG HAIR:grin:

This product is really good, in fact I would not be surprised if the company starts selling a watered down version of it in the stores, like Mane n Tail. I have been using it for a month, and not everyday and my hair has grown. I bc'd on June 12th and this stuff has helped a lot.

This is wonderful because I need all three, thicker, longer and stronger hair so I will continue to use OCT and MT.

Wow, I cant wait to hear more comparsions about the product. I also cant wait to see your pictures.

I've been avoiding posting in this thread because I don't want to make a decision until I get to 3 months. Sometimes I feel like the MT is giving me more growth. but I'm so wishy washy and unsure of it I cannot say with any conviction I believe it's working for my hair. I won't have an answer for sure until three months. Unless there is an obvious, visible, noticeable difference - like NaW going from shoulder length to almost APL in 2 months - my verdict will be a big, sad NO. So far I haven't found anything - product, regimen, style, procedure - that has given me results that I revealed and said WOW I can clearl see a difference! Well, except sew ins.

How can you guys tell your hair is thicker? Because I don't even think I have that going for me either. My hair doesn't seem any thicker than normal and I guess if it was, I would just notice it. I've been using MT for a month now and I don't see any noticeable difference in length or thickness. And I was using it straight, directly on my scalp, EVERY DAY FOR A MONTH STRAIGHT. But now that I'm not seeing any WOW, I'm just using it every other day. I'm too much of a sucker to use it any less :( still a dummy hoping it's going to work even though it hasn't so far

Hmmm, hi honey, I think I might have asked you this question before but I will ask it again - how is your diet and water intake? These play a very important role in hair growth as well. I asked this because you said that the only thing working for you is sew in and that's a protective style which helps to retain length, but not necessarily grow the hair.

I'm in great shape. I work out four days a week and drink at least 2 liters of water a day. It's not my diet.

Hmm, well good luck finding a reggie that really works and give you the growth rate you desire, I really mean that honey:yep:. I wish I could help further though.

Hello everyone! Newbie here :yep:

I want to say that its wonderful to see so many beautiful black women with long, strong, and healthy hair. And you guys work together and help each other like a family. Its really cool.

I've read through a few threads here about OCT and I have a few questions.

Here's a condensed version of my story:

I've been having my hair relaxed since I was 5 years old (I'm 21 now.) I've always had healthy thick hair until about a year ago. My aunt is a beautician and does my hair every two weeks. About a year ago she got really sick and I went to one of her friends to get a retouch. Big mistake :ohwell:. When the shampoo tech washed my perm out she used the plastic scrub brush like my hair was on fire. When I got up could feel that my hair was thinner. Since then it has been shedding and breaking a considerable amount.

My aunt continues to do my hair every two weeks but I really feel it needs to be washed every week. I'm good after I leave the shop...until about a week and then it starts shedding again. I really don't know what my hair type is because I have it relaxed every six weeks.

My question is, does anyone use OCT or MT intermittently? I want to use it every other week between visits. Or does anyone who has done this seen any results?

Sorry about the long post but I look forward to meeting all of you

Hello Nodisrespect, don't give up you may need to switch it up a bit. I have not made my purchase yet. Actually, I was about to buy the MT Rebuilder and Super Detangler till I noticed that the Rebuilder bottle did not say Cell Rebuilder on it. LOL Yes I know we have had this discussion before and they are both the same thing. Mega-Tek Cell Rebuilder vs. Mega-Tek Rebulder. But anyway that's a side issue. I'm glad I did not order it because clearly I still need to do my research and would like to buy the whole kit minus the shampoo because it's not any different than what's on the market. It has the Sodium Laurete in it. In an interview with the owner, the owner said that the shampoo you use must NOT have any oil or have any product that coats the hair. So that means no co-washing first. I would say use a gentle cleansing shampoo first then MT Rebuilder. The product has to be able to reach your strands to penetrate.

I noticed that you are applying it only to your scalp like many of the ladies here. Could it be that you may need to use it like a conditioner? What works for them may not work for you. I would say continue to monitor your hair and if by the 3rd month you don't see results, do what the bottle instructs you to do. It may just be that you need to saturate your head with this stuff for 5-10 minutes and then wash it out. But don't forget to moisturize. Keep me posted. Good luck.

I got a sewin two weeks ago and I use an applicator bottle and or my finger to get
around the tracks and get it on my scalp. My braids are already loose like a month old sewin. So I voted that it works.

That's a shame:look:, I purchased it about 2 months ago it's in my siggy and I haven't even used it yet.

I have a comment myself to make on these two products, I started using the MT on 7 Oct 08, and alternated using the OCT on 12 Oct. I don't know, but I must be the odd one out here. I can say that I do see and feel thickness, but as far as growth....notta!!!! I don't feel comfortable leaving either one in my hair overnight, but I do leave it in for about 6 hours then rinse followed by moist. cond. which stays in for about 2 hours. I don't know what is going on but it is not what I thought it would be. Then I had the nerve to order 2 more bottles of the OCT so I would'nt run out. I take my vitamins....MSM,silica,futerbiotics hair, nails and skin, and flaxseed with fish oil, and even a multi vitamin my Dr. prescribed for me. I love love my water, and have been drinking as I usually do like a fish. But to this day I don't know why I am not seeing amazing results myself!!!!! I was just thinking maybe it's to soon for me to see, but I have noticed at times my scalp like now is sore. If anyone has any suggestions to kinda help me along with this I would really appreciate it. Yes, I do massage them into my scalp to get the circulation going. The one benefit that I have noticed with taking the vit. is my nails are growing super fast on my right hand. I am a lefty and normally my nails only grows well on my left and and not my right, but the vit. has super charged my nail growth, which I am not really complaining about cause I always did have long nails, but this is about hair. I may have to find an alternative soon, but in the meantime I will use what I have until it's gone. Also I use both products every 2 days. Someone please help!!!!!:nono::yawn::look::perplexed

Hey lady, I am a newbie and I just received my MT. However, I have used multiple products. You haven't been using it for 30 days yet. Give it some time. Most of the results that people are reporting are amazing, but normally, unless you find fault with a product(hair breakage), you should use it for 30-90 days and report results. I see that you are alternating products and there is a thread that lists the ingredients so I am sure you know that both products are very similar give or take a couple of ingredients. I suggest that you are consistent with your hair regimen. Get a journal and log your results every week. Take pictures and report your progress. Set your hair goals according to your normal growth so that the growth aids don't matter if they don't work well for you. Silkydreamgirl I

Does anybody see more of a benefit using the entire MT line as opposed to just the MT? What else is included in that line? I have OCT too and am tempted to get the other products in that line too but I don't know if it's really necessary or not. Any input would be appreciated.

I really, really like the Premier Cream Rinse. It has a little protein in it, but it seems like the perfect conditioner to balance the protein in the MT. I don't use shampoo, so I can't speak on their shampoo - but the conditioner really rocks. :yep:
