now that its cold out and there isn't as much humidity? I have still been using it. However, I've seen some threads that sugget that its not good to use in the winter. Sidenote: I've started using it on my skin too after the shower and that stuff is the best "lotion" I've ever used. I put coconut oil on it afterwards.

Hmmm I mixed this up and was using it on my hair , but for some reason didn't continue. My ratios might have been off because in the beginning I loved it, but after a while it made my hair and hands kind of sticky. I Mixed up a 2nd batch substituting Honeyquat for the glycerin. I don't think I was wild about that concoction either.

im still using it...but in a different way. Now im just sprayin it directly on my ends, then seal. Ill do this right before a baggy, or when i wrap my hair

Bumping .. I would like to know as well if it's good to continue to use in the winter. I thought I read somewhere that if there isn't any moisture in the air, it takes moisture out of your hair.

how much humidity (%) is needed for the humectant not to take moisture from your hair/skin?

SR, my mixture contains aloe vera, glycerin, and AG fast food co and I am still using my occasionally. I have not decided if I will continue to use it throughout the winter though. This week, I am actually testing it out b/c the weather here is somewhat cool. Hopefully, it will work well for me doing the colder months b/c my hair seemed to love it during the warmer months.

I use it when I DC. When I get a hair steamer I know it will really be the BIZ!

I'm gonna start a "butt length hair by Dec. '09" thread :lachen:

I use it all year round. Never had any problems with it...I always seal with oil though, so perhaps that's why it's not drying out my hair. I would think that if it takes moisture from your hair, that moisture would then evaporate, but if you seal then the moisture can't go anywhere...

I stopped using the aloe vera jel in my mix and went to aloe vera juice. My hair didn't do good with either ofthem. I tryed glycerin in the mixes also, and I really didn't care for it. I switched to honeyquat, I like this so much better.

I don't use my spritzs as much as before, since its getting cold here. I will use them when I re twist my hair at night, usually every other night or so.

I like to twist on damp hair so I spritz each section at a time. Then I add Anita Grant Cafe Latte to each section to seal, then twist.

I make sure to get my ends very good. I have went to once a week washes and no wash and gos. So, this is working out alot better for me. My hair is staying very very moisturised.
