I bought NTM Deep Recovery Hair Mask because I was in need of moisture and I had too much protein. The first time I used it I did it as a pre-poo so I put it on dry hair and put a baggy and a hot towel. Then I went to rinse it out and shampoo and I had too condition again. My hair was so stiff and hard I could not believe it!

Then I thought I would try it again except this time I would go it strictly by the directions. "After shampooing apply a small amount to wet hair concentrating on the ends. Let penetrate for 3 to 5 minutes. Rinse well. Style as usual." So I did just that and as I rinsed it seemed to want to tangle. It seems to raise the cuticle of my hair so that it would tangle! It was really weird. So I put in V05 conditioner just to get it to detangle. I will never use this again! My hair was still hard but not as bad as the last time I had used it.

I thought I heard that NTM was good. Has anyone else ever had this problem?

So I now am using Nexxus Humectress which is great.

My hair doesn't care for it much. None of the Neutrogena stuff works for my hair really. A lot of the things that people love and adore (CoN, Mango Butter, Keracare deep con., Infusium) work for me. They always make my hair feel like straw.

My hair doesn't respond well to NTM in general, especially the leave-in. :ohwell:

I love the leave in but i find my hair like the ORS olive oil hair lotion more now. But the shampoo and con are so gentle on my relaxed hair and thats what i like...

I actually used this after my shampoo yesterday, I left it in for like 10 minutes and washed out and it worked well for me. It left my hair soft and manageable. I've tried a lot of stuff people on this forum use and some they hate. Nothing has ever worked badly for me. Is it possible to have heads of hair that like everything?

:yep::yep: My hair likes errrrrything! I can't think of nothing I used that caused my hair too harden. I remember when I first used Rusk Sensories Leave In, it caused my hair to harden but I had bought a liter so I applied the leave in lightly instead of heavy handed. Now, that's my staple leave in product:grin:

Yes, the same thing happened to me when I used a very expensive brand name hair masque. My hair was hard, dry, and stiff. :nono: I think masques for hair tend to be very drying, just like masques for the face. Their whole purpose is to dry up the additional oils and impurities that are there. Maybe your hair is like mine-just does not like masques, but loves creamy, liquid conditioners!

Just wanted to say that Nexxus Humectress does have protein in it so you may want to be careful. You may notice it after the third or forth use. I'm glad that you're finding what works for you hair. I've never tried the NTM mask but I do use the leave in and my hair doesn't notice a difference one way or the other. I'm just using my bottle until it's gone. Always do what works best for your hair. Forget these band wagons.

i have it but never used it. i like the daily conditioner though, i use it as a co wash and its lovely.

My hair lurvs this mask! I started using it when CON Nourishing started being discontinued and I still use it

NTM mask is a light protein. On the weeks I use it, I normally rinse after sitting under the dryer and then put another moisture base con on in the shower to get the tangles out.

I need to try ORS Olive Oil.

yeah I don't like the leave-in either. It feels soft going on but then....:ohwell:

I like the conditioner in the tube though.

My hair ended up feeling dried out after using it :ohwell:

tried it once, but i was kinda focused on the other stuff i was doing so i couldnt really label it as a love or hate. my hair didn't fall out or anything.

i feel you on the not-being-able-to-use-an-LHCF-staple though...my hair haaaaates shea butter. with a passion.
