My fiance unknowigly pushed me even harder than I have ever wanted to go before!!!
So I have been using Megatek since September and I said I'd try it once, when it runs out I'm done. I want to wear my hair pressed and using Megatek really makes that impossible if I want to use it often. Something told me to hang in there a little longer - so I just ordered another bottle. It came in the mail yesterday at the very same moment I was thinking "At the beginning of November, I'm going to wear it pressed more often - I'm tired of buns and my twist outs aren't looking like they used to, so this Megatek will just have to wait
".
So when I opened the box all excited, of course he asked me what it was. I've told him a little about trying to grow my hair out, but I haven't given him specific details (plus I don't think he was listening). So here's how the convo went:
Me: I'm so glad this came! This is for my hair - remember I told you what I was trying to do?
Him: Yeah - kinda. What was that again?
Me: Ok - well right now my hair is just below my shoulders; I want it to grow to at least my armpit so that it's not brushing up on my shoulders and clothes all the time and it's less likely to break off. That's why I wear buns and natural styles all the time. And this stuff (Megatek) is helping to keep it strong so it can get there.
Him: Ummm - that's not gonna happen.
Me:
WHAT!!!??? OMG - you don't think that black women can have long hair???
Him: No, I really don't.
Me: Ok, you know what - I was just about to start pressing my hair again because I'm tired of wearing it like this and I know you are tired of seeing it - but now you have given me even MORE motivation then EVER before!!! Just wait and see!!!!!
OOOOOOOOOOOOHHH he got me so hype!!!!
So we've only been engaged for a little over a month, and in the back of my mind I was saying that I won't get married until my hair is at least BSL - so that is my goal right now!!! So when people ask "When's the wedding!?" I'll just say "When my hair touches my brastrap!" 
I know some people will think - oh, so you're never getting married then 
. Just wait ladies....just wait. Sometimes the nest motivation is somebody telling you that it can't be done!!! Remember this post - because when I get there, I am going to make him eat his words!!
