If you've used this, let us know how your results were and what you liked and disliked.
It's a good alternative to indigo for creating brown tones.

Katam is a natural herb that grows in Yemen. It is great to for creating brown tones when used with henna. It's brand new on the ayurvedic/natural herbs market. But of course has been used for thousands of years. I am going to run a few tests soon to show the color results on mohair.

Absolutely. I am going to start some tests tomorow and then from there over the next few days will have results and will surely post pics up to share.

I've been thinking about it, but more for the future when I have much more gray in my hair. I currently use henna regularly and it works for me. But my gray is very limited right now. I'm really lazy and don't like double processes of any kind, which is why I don't use indigo. I think katam can be mixed right in with the henna, yes? That would be good.

Tests are going well. Stil working on finalizing it all.

Cichelle, you can use indigo as well by adding it directly to your henna mix. It's the same with katam. Just mix both seperately. Do the henna first as it has a bit of a longer dye release (depending on your chosen henna powder), then mix the indigo or katam, rest it for 15-20 mins, then blend both pastes together and apply. There you go brown!! (various possible brown tones)
