I started puting it on my ends when its wet. When it dries it is sooooooo soft. Then I just got my hair pressed and my stylist commented on how it was coming out extra silky lol. I think its the castor oil. So Im rocking with it!

It's great in the summer as protection against humidity. However, I "cut" mine with half coconut oil.

I've done this a few times recently and I liked it. Otherwise, I'm not in love with castor oil at all. It's just too thick for me.

A tiny bit - barely enough to cover the palms of my hands - smoothed over my semi-damp hair leaves it soft, lush, and moist for days.

its great moisture.

But its not the type of oil that you can just run through your hair. I spot treat with it. I apply it to the ends of my plaits and my edges (which are always so dry) If I do want to apply it all over I mix it with sweet almond oil.

I mix it in my prepoo and/or DC and when I rinse my hair is super soft and manageable. Over time, CO has improved the condition of my hair. My hair is soft, pliable, and retains moisture for 5-7 days at a time.

I love castor oil! I put it on my hair when it's wet and dry. I use it to seal and it makes my hair soooooooooooooooooooooooooo soft. It really locks in that moisture. You only need to use a little though. It lasts awhile. I bought a small bottle last year and I still have it.

See I am the opposite, I love castor oil and hate the others, I just tolerate coconut oil every once in a while.
I just recently tried new oils and I was dissappointed.
Castor oil is perfect for my braidouts...perfect.

does castor oil really block humidity? I thought it was a humectant.

Castor oil is a humectant, that I know of. :yep: It's the only hair my hair has shown itself to like, as well.

Castor oil is inexpensive ($6.00 for 32oz) and makes my hair so soft:yep::yep::yep: Its mild antiseptic properties makes it a good choice for minor scalp and skin problems.

I had no dry skin anywhere on my body last year!!!

I like it because it's thick. It works so well for my wet hair and I love it for my flat twist outs. I use it to seal the ends of my twists overnight and it makes my hair so shiny, soft and bouncy. I love how it has, over time made my edges softer and smoother. I use coconut oil in my hair and and some on my scalp, but castor oil for my ends. If it's too thick for you, maybe water it down with other lighter oils
