Hi everyone

I joined LHCF two or three weeks ago and I've started a new regimen. I ordered WEN, but it didn't come yet... so in the meantime I've been using the following products 2 times per week:

I mix a spoonful of the biotin shampoo with water (I actually use an empty shampoo bottle for this) and shake it all up. I rinse my hair with it and then I condition with the Oliva conditioner.

The other 5 days of the week, I cowash with the Oliva conditioner. So far, my hair has been feeling healthier since I've cut down on the shampooing, and my natural waves are standing out more.

Can't wait for my WEN to get here... I ordered it online. I desperately need a trim, but I'm trying to hold off. I also stopped dying my hair as of Sept. 1... hoping to grow out my natural color (dk. brown).

Your hair is beautiful. Keep up the good work and you will see great results. How does that biotin shampoo make your hair feel.? I know that biotin is great for your hair.

Awesome! Consistency is definitely key. Once you start to stick to what works for you, your hair will thrive :yep:. I've never heard of the biotin shampoo, who's it by, and what are the ingredients in it?

This particular one is by Puritan's Pride. Here is the link: http://www.puritan.com/hair-care-products-032/biotin-shampoo-002490

I never put it directly on my hair and lather, as they suggest... instead I dilute it and rinse. It seems to cleanse well. Since I never put it directly on my head, I'm not sure how strong it is... but I know they make a lot of "Vitamin Enriched" shampoos that are milder as well.

The Olive conditioner is also from the Puritan's Pride website. I only bought them because they were on sale (buy 1, get 2 free). Here are all of their shampoos: http://www.puritan.com/shampoos-037

Again, not sure how strong they all really are... but I've had good luck with it so far. :)

I have been diluting it because I'm afraid to apply a strong shampoo directly on my hair, but so far it's made my hair feel pretty soft. It definitely removes any product buildup, but without drying out the hair.

I'm glad your finding what works for you. Thanks for the link to the biotin shampoo, i hadn't heard of it til now either.

I'm glad that you have found a regimen that works better for you! And thanks for updating us! HHG

Your hair looks lovely, Livesoundtech! It has a lovely sheen. I think you can wait on trimming, your ends look good. Congratulations on revamping your reggie! :)

Thanks for all of the comments! I have also stopped using the flat-iron... trying to make it until January without using heat on my hair. I don't know how to style it though... my hair gets very tangled when it's down, and I don't want to wear it in a ponytail every day. Is there a section on the forum for hairstyle ideas? (Sorry, I'm new!)

porosity control will kill the tangles

and have you ever had a blow out? try a dominican salon - they can handle your hair. you're in NYC take the A or C train to 145th and broadway

I think I'm going to get some of that biotin shampoo... I use J/A/S/O/N Biotin conditioner and I love it, but it's kinda expensive

AWESOME IDEA! I had one done about three years ago (by accident... long story) and other than the fact that I paid a huge amount for it, my hair looked and felt amazing. I am in NYC so I think I'll give it another shot at a dominican salon instead of the original place I tried. Thanks for the great idea! :)
