I speak for everyone (mostly) when I say receiving touchups within 6-7 weeks was taught to us at young ages. I did this until college. In college, I no longer had momma chasing me with Optimum anti-breakage, and I couldn't relax my hair on my own at the time; therefore, it was relaxed every 2-3 months (whenever I was home for holidays and what not).

I still have that withdrawal where I see my ng and I'm like "wtf am I supposed to do with this.." lol. I've had that feeling a loooot for the last few months because I've been seriously underprocessed thanks to ORS olive oil no-lye and my 4z hair. Well, today I think I figured it out!

My sister had her homecoming dance today, so I relaxed her hair. Not mommy, me :) lol. Not only was it practice for me (I was astonished how quickly I applied it, w00t!), but it was actually relieving. I last got my touchup in August and I'm trying to stretch till the end of November at the least. Running my fingers through that Just For Me and smelling it did me some justice I swear. I'll probably do my other sister's hair next month. Soon enough, it'll be my turn :)

:lachen: I felt that one! And had those same thoughts!

I feel your pain. Eight weeks is really pushing it for me. I did seven weeks last time, but my friend told me some LHCF product recommendations that help soften the NG so it's manageable until you get the next relaxer. I'll find out the product name and update you.

lol, you're speaking of my once upon a time friends.....they'd get a crinkle at the root (not even a full wave though) and would be announcing to everyone they needed a perm. I tried to tell them to stretch just a teeny bit but it fell on deaf ears.

i must be crazy then because i never had a tough time stretching but i think thats because i used to get my hair pressed every two weeks so i never so ng(it was pressed straight).

Thank you :)

I've stopped straightening my new growth for the most part. I haven't flat ironed, or put any heat on my hair since 31 August. I usually leave the house with a wet/damp bun lol. I've been cowashing every other day to soften it for now. 1 day after my cowash, I can't get a comb or anything through my hair (megatek-ing has been painful lol!).
