TRANSITION OVER! 11-22-14
I was considering relaxing, but I'd really like to keep transitioning. I brought a relaxer out of frustration, but this is the longest I've ever transitioned and I really would hate to lose my progress because of my own lack of confidence.:nono: I am allergic to extensions and twists do not stay in my hair. Please help me help myself. :violin:

Wig it for a few months until the nape is long enough and healthy enough to curl and blend with the rest of your hair. Or go ahead and relax and keep it moving.

If your relaxed ends are unravelling in the twists, you could try setting the end of each twist on drinking straws with a little clear, non-alcoholic gel or setting lotion.

I'm fully relaxed and I sometimes wear twists for a week to give my hair a break. First, I cut some straws into 1 inch pieces. Then, I twist a section wrapping the very end of the twist around a straw piece, and hold it in place with a bobby pin. When my entire head is twisted, I set my hair under a hooded drier for about a half of an hour. When I remove the straws, there's tiny spiral curls at the ends of my twists.

At night, I put my hair in a loose pony and sleep with a satin bonnet.

HTH!

Kinda off topic but are you allergic to synthetic hair or the alkaline base that is on synthetic hair extensions? If it's the base, you can rinse it off before getting extensions.

DD, I was going to suggest twists. Since you are allergic to extensions, what type? If it is synthetic you may want to try human hair. If its the Alkaline you may want to rinse it in ACV/hot water before you put the hair on your head

I know you do not know what to do about your hair, maybe you need to give it a break for a while. just do the simple stuff. A good protective style should help. I have decided to step back for a while and keep it simple. Twist it up. Wash it. Moisturize it.

Dont let your hair frustrate you.

I just tried twisting with setting lotion and it worked!:yep: The only downside is that my left hand side looks ugly. I'm right handed and that side looks awesome. How can I get the other side to look good?

You just have to keep practicing. Practice makes perfect.
