Hi Ladies,

Just want to get your opinions on this style. How do you think is the best way to create this look (from the Aveda Dry Remedy line):

I like that style..I haven't the slightest clut on how to recreate it....it looks like they curled it under at the top and then a loose wrap around to create the spiral at the end... IDK...just guessing.

I think that looks like a good flexirod set to me.

The curlformer sets that I seen all look tighter and more shirley temple like than that pic.

I think they used a curling iron. If you want to stay away from the heat doing the large bantu knots would be the next best thing. The flexi rod curls are quite tight.

Let me know how you come out live the look.
I was wondering if large rods would create this look

I've created this look by curling small sections with a small barrel curling iron. I have a 1" barrel iron and I thought that would do it but the barrel was too big. Tried it again with a barrel that I wouldn't normally use to curl my hair and it worked great! I think the barrel was 1/2 or 5/8".

You could try large twists (maybe 4-6 total??). Then undo the twists and "separate" them delicately into smaller pieces.

Let us know what you decide to do and how it goes...

Good luck :drunk:

Thanks for all your suggestions ladies,

I went ahead and tried the flexirods although most of you voted for curlformers. I don’t have the jumbo size rods so I used the ones I had to see how good I could get the set (first time doing whole head ) and I liked the results. I see that even if I would’ve used the big flexirods, the ends would still be kind of tight, (my hair is not as long as the model’s) so maybe I should try to spread out the end a little more instead of wrapping it around itself (to get something more like ~ if that makes sense). Here’s the result:

This is how the set looks today (Day 2), the curls droped a bit, but the ends are still tight and not quite like the model curls:

I’ve also done some twistouts before and this is how they look, these are medium twist, maybe I should do few big ones :perplexed:

I don’t have curlformers yet, but I would like to give that a try also and my bantu knot sets look like a HAM...:lachen:(need ya'll help on this). So based on the pics which one you think is a closer look?

:bighug:

^^^^Your hair looks nice!

Did you set your hair while it was dry or wet?

Oh and the 2nd day of the flexi rods is a closer look.

I think you'd have to pull the curls down and apart more to achieve a look more similar to the pics.

But I like it as is also.
