WEN and COLORING

How would I go about doing this? I want to put a permanent hair color (black) in my hair and use my WEN. How should I go about doing this?

Color my hair first then wash and DC w/WEN?

Or what???

Someone posted recently about using a neutralizing shampoo after coloring but I don't remember who it was or what thread it was in.

Permanent color (all that I know of) is supposed to be applied to dry hair anyway so it would make sense to color then wash/dc.
