Now i'm confused, I have always adored long hair, but now with the new shorter hair styles i'm seeing on tv, i'm giving my long hair a second thought.

My new fave song is by Keri Hilson Energy, I'm not in a bad relationship but sometimes I like a good sad love song.

Her hair cut is amazing, I use to have my hair cut like that in elementary and junior high, i know too young for that but my mom was a hairstylist during those years.

I have really been thinking should I get a jaw line hair cut......

what do you ladies think????

are there any of you out there that are also considering getting a new "trendy" haircut?

I had to google her picture because I've never heard of her... very cute hairdo!

There's an AA woman at my office with a blunt cut like Victoria Beckham. OMG her hair is so cute and I would love to get her haircut. Then I think about how much it would set me back, so I leave it alone. Plus on my natural hair it would be a disaster. If you really want that haircut though you can give it some more thought.

I love Keri Hilson's cut! But I say, wait a few weeks, and if you still feel the same way, by all means, go ahead. Although if I cut my hair, it'd most likely be in the spring, because I bun all winter; I don't know what your regimen is though.

NAH, get a wig and cut it to the style you want. If you get bored with that new cut you can't get long hair again overnight!

I think a very nice wig is a better alternative to cutting your hair. How long will this style be "trendy". It takes awhile to grow the kute cut of this month out, and eventually you might wish you long healthy tresses were back. A wig or sew in is more versatile. You could wear it for a month, and once you got tired of it, take it out and continue taking care of your hair! I just wouldn't get rid of all my progress I worked hard lol

I was seriously considering cutting my hair a couple of months ago. I was under a lot of stress with my mom being sick and I just needed a distraction I think.

I waited it out and the feeling passed. I'm very glad I didn't cut my hair. I still really like shorter styles but you can always get a good sew-in to mimic some cut you like. Trust me, you'll probably get sick of the cut and then wish you had the versatility of your long hair again.

But if you get a sew-in and then get sick of the cut, all you gotta do is take the weave out and then you can have your long hair again. Best of both worlds if you ask me.

yeah the hair cuts that are out now I just love, but I don't know if I have the balls to do it, I've always had hair at least shoulder length in elementary school.

michelle williams cut is hot too:

yeah your right, hope your mom is better.....

my hair grows back fast, but I guess I have to come back to reality these entertainers can do whatever styles they want because they have the best stylists and weaving experts.

your right it is progress to grow hair even if your hair grows at a decent pace, guess i should have thought about this in the summer time.

Before I found LHCF I was seriously thinking about cutting my hair really short. I'm glad I didn't I would've been hating it right now. So just give it a thought, don't do anything you can regret later on.

the main reason i wouldnt do it as a previous poster mentioned is how bad it would look natural. :perplexed

which is why i have some blunt cut WIGS lmao....

Yep, I totally agree. I'm getting a wig myself because I love some of the short styles but am not willing to cut my hair to get it.

You have to decide if long hair is what you want ultimately. It just might not suit you or your lifestyle. I'd think long and hard about it before doing anything even a weave. This might just be a 'she's so cute w/ that hair...don't I wish I could do it too' moments that will pass.

Why don't you get a quick weave and cut it into the short style you like. After a while if you find you don't miss your hair then take it out and cut it.

If you cut it, you might have to manipulate it more for it to look nice, especially if it's too short to bun or pin up easily. I agree with the posters who suggest wigs or sew-ins. I want a HH chin-length bob wig soooo bad!!!

I look at that as a fad b/c what ever is in people start do that... Look at rhianna when she first got that cut, the cut is so pretty on her but urhhh IRL I do not want to be sitting at the salon to keep it up. I think about that whenever I see a short hair do, the styles look so pretty and cute but when it's time to keep it up, I'd pass on that one :yep:. When you have long hair you can do so much more with it.

Well I am probably not in the favor here, but if your hair is healthy and it grows back fast, why not?

I am on both sides of the sword here. For me since I've been struggling with retaining length. I probably would not cut my hair. However, I LOVE hair and feel that hair should be versatile and long hair is not the only "hot" hair style out there.

I have a friend who is a makeup artist who is very diverse with her hair. Her hair is long right now, but 2 years ago she had it cut into a shorter bob. Her hair stays healthy and easily grows back.

I've been going back and forth on this lately also...I'm transitioning and 8 months post right now - I did a mini chop in April already, but it grew back over the summer. I've been looking at some angled bobs with side bangs. I want to get rid of more of my straight ends so I can wear my hair textured w/o so much manipulation, but I'm worried about the shrinkage factor, and how that same cut would look curly vs flat ironed....I'm wondering if I should wait till Jan/Feb when I will be a year post...?

I'm considering the weave idea, but a weave is like $120, and the cut on my hair is like $45. Not to mention I'd have to cut the top anyway unless I got a FULL weave, which adds more $$ to the cost with the closure and everything.

Has any transitioner or natural cut their hair into a style typically seen with straight/relaxed hair? How did it fall?

sometimes i will see a realy cute short hairsyle and think hymmmm....but once i gather my thoughts i realize that i might love it for a few days then i would get bored with it. I'd rather rock a wig as an alternative and see how i feel rather than chopping my hair off.
