Here's a pic of my new Illusion braids - they are micros around the perimeter with a sew in the middle. I did them myself, took about 8 hours. I'm pretty darn pleased with them myself


ETA: Added a pic of what they look like down - still working on trimming. This is after I already cut off about 4 inches.

Thanks - it definitely cut down on the timeframe. I really don't think I would have the patience to do my entire head in micros

Hey - practice makes perfect. I know that there are tons of others, but I found the braiding tutorial on growafrohairlong.com (?) pretty easy to follow if you're interested in giving it a try!

(goes to look in trash can) - for the sew in part i used Equal by Freetress, 1b/30. I'd never seen this particular type before, but found it at my local bss. For the micros, I got the same color and curl pattern in bulk hair. Sorry, don't remember the brand name (trash has already gone out from Saturday night).

u did FABULOUS job!!! i tried it last August but my tracks where showing and i had to wear a scarf the whole time to camoflage the tracks...i used the same hair...freetress.....my question is...."how do u prevent the tracks from showing on the sides and crown area" TIA

Great job on your braids. I really want to do this style with the tracks, but SO hates sew ins but loves micros so I guess I'll just do those. But you have completely sold me on the hair. I have been eyeing that same curl pattern and hair for the past few months, but I hadn't really seen it on anyone and the lady in the picture didn't really do it for me. But your hair is gorgeous. You did a great job!
