Hi, lady- You are right, Aphogee is more of a protein shampoo.

Have you read this article? http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=186229 Some of the links in the article go on to give examples of protein products and moisturizing products. Hopefully you can find something in there that will help you-:yep:

Between the Aphogee reconstructor and the ORS replenishing pack- that's quite a bit of protein. If your hair responds well then fine but if not you may want to consider throwing a moisturizing condishioner in there as well. If you are relaxed the extra protein may be ok. Just find the balance that works for your hair.

Aaaaw how cute!

Yeah the aphogee shampoo is more of a protien and not really moisturizing at all.

Whats your regimen going to be?

I think my regimen will be to
Shampoo twice a week with Cream of Nature
One DC with Cream of Nature
One Cd with Alphogee
I will attempt to ad moisture after the shampoo and conditioner with the Elastaa QP Product
Will only Roller set --- no blow drying no flat iron ( I have been doing the flat irons for 3 yrs)
I have Biotin,Vitamin C and Complex B
Will stretch relaxers from 8 to 10 weeks

Ok anything else I can add??

Oh Yes, I want to add MT to my regimen but a little afraid of shedding

Check to see which sulfates are in them first. If they have sodium or ammonium lauryl sulfates in them, you might not want to use them as a moisturizing poo but more of a clarifying poo. Moisturizing poos may or may not have the sodium laureth sulfate in them but if you totally want to avoid the sulfates, you would have to get more natural organic poos made by Jason Natural, Giovanni, Abba Creme Moist, Modern Organic Products (MOP) and I think Organix just to name a few.

Just so you know, sulfates are detergents that clean the hair very well but they also dry out the hair too. They can be diluted with water to lessen their drying effects and used on the scalp only. You may also pre-poo the length of your hair with oils or conditioners before using them. You still need a good moisturizing poo no matter if you do these steps to prevent dryness.

Thanks I am attepting to get it together
my 11 yr old is also starting the regimen with me

You want the GREEN Cream of Nature, not the blue. THe GReen is Ultra Moisturizing. OR you can even get the REd which is still moisturizing but less moisturizing than the Green. Either way, you don't want the blue since moisture is what you're going for.

HTH.

Will shampooing more often make the hair grow?

I wouldn't say that it does and I wouldn't that it doesn't. I think that shampoos are too harsh to be used too frequently especially if they have detergents in them. I would recommend shampooing once a week and co-washing/deep conditioning more often, say about 2 - 3 times a week should suffice.

There are so many alternatives to harsh shampoos out there like ayurveda powders, ie, amla, shikakai, bhringraj, hibiscus petal powder, tulsi, brahmi, neem and aritha for example. Some are also using natural poos like Dr. Bronner Castile soaps, and WEN cleansing conditioners are all examples. These examples make it possible to shampoo more often than with commercial poos.

Remember it's not really the shampooing that makes the hair grow so fast but rather more so the act of putting water, a natural moisturizier on the hair frequently and the "scritching" (stimulation from the massaging) done when we wash our hair and scalp. That's why it is believed that regular scalp massaging of the scalp grows the hair faster when done correctly of course. I hope this helped.
