I'm so angry :wallbash: I've had this thing for less than 3 months, used it on my whole head twice, and the freakin thing just went out. Right in the middle of me doing my hair, so I have part kinky hair, part straight. I'm so mad. GRRR! Any recs, other than the Maxiglide, for a good flatiron? I'm 4 a/b natural.

TIA

Sorry that happened..... do you have your warranty?

I have a Sedu too but I like my Chi with the temp control just as much.

Yes, I called Folica & they told me to call Sedu monday morning. Have you ever had any problems w/your Sedu?

Sorry that happened to you. I had mine over 4 years, and it just quit working this summer. I loved mine and am going to order another in the fall. I don't blame you for wanting to try something else with the experience you had though. I have heard good things about the Solia. I almost bought one bc it comes in pink, lol.

Yeah, I was tempted to get the Solia for that reason too lol, but went for the stupid Sedu. I like how well it works too, but I dont want it be going out on me every other month.

I havent had any problems with my Sedu other than the writing rubbing off the sides.

I also got mines from Folica.

I purchased my Sedu in December 2007 from Folica.Com. I haven't had any problems with it. I love that thing.

Wow I was so shocked by this title. I love my sedu it is a hair saver. I can certainly understand your feelings about want to switch to something else, but it should have a one year warranty with the manufacture.

I never like to buy any expensive hair tools, cuse the cheap ones work just as good.
see how the manufactor throw stuff together, and charge u lots of money.

I have a sedu, don't use it really (i use my maxiglide) anymore, but it works. I've had it for maybe 1 1/2 years. Sucks that this happened to you. I am hoping that Sedu honors it's warranty and doesn't make you jump through any hoops.

I have one and it works great. I love it. Sorry OP if i hijack your post, but does anyone know how to clean this thing. In the notice, it says that we should not use alcool, that's what I used to use with my other flat irons. Thanks for any help :)

I'm sorry honey but this has not been the case for me. I find that the more expensive brands of hair tool do work far better than the cheaper brands. I used to think like this until I started purchasing more expensive brands and then I found out that they ARE wayyyyy better than the cheapies in my opinion. All my cheapies, I gave to my sis and her daughter to use. I use the expensive ones because they are much smoother on my hair.

Hmmm, mine never gets build up on it so I can't help with this however, I have been cleaning mine with a very soft cotton cloth after every use while the iron is still warm to hot and this has helped to keep the build-up off of it. I hope someone else chimes in with an answer.

^^^^ I do the same, just clean with a towel while hot (carefully).

Thanks for your input, everyone.

Well thanks so much. I've been doing the same thing, I was just wondering if that was enough :)

I am loving my Fhi, had it for 2years and it is just as good as when I bought it. Got it from folica on sale for about $60! :yep::yep:Good price!

Nope, the pricey ones are way better and a lot less damaging then the cheap ones.

Worth the money. :yep:

Sorry that happened to u Felicia.
Nextime try a different brand, maybe u'll have more success with that.

OP, which Sedu did you purchase? i was thinking about getting the new sedu2008 when they are in stock (sept 1st). Do you think it's the brand as a whole; have you had problems with other Sedu products? I'm sorry this happened to you but I was really hoping that the Sedu would work magic for me...now i'm having 2nd thoughts about purchasing.

I've only used the one item from Sedu, the 1 and 1/2 inch flatiron. It seems like most have good experiences with it, so it may just be a fluke. You might still want to try it. I had no other complaints about it, when it was working.

Don't toss it! Mine did the same thing on vacation ( i was hot ). . . I got back home, unpacked and decided to plug it in one last time before I tossed it. I tried pushing the red and black circuit buttons . . . and it worked! I've had it close to a year. I only use it every month or two for length checks so it hasn't had much use. HTH

This reminded me, mine quit working about 2 years ago and I was ready to throw it out as well. My SO figured out that you have to sort of push down and over on the temperature gauge sometimes for it to work. I know that sounds confusing, but try to mess with it a few times. HTH2

I have never had any problems with my Sedu. I loved tha iron until I purchased the Royale Flat Iron. I will more than likely sell my Sedu. I love my Royale that much better. (But I never had any problems with the Sedu.)
