I have been looking all over with my so called research and have not found any textured REALISTIC looking half wigs to match my 4b texture. Ladies if you know any please hook a sista up.. I did buy a Sensationnel style # HZ 8004 from hairsisters.com. It looks nice but doesn't match my texture at all too silky and just not REALISTIC enough.. Hopefully maybe someone could get use out of that style and suggest one for me... Thanks much oblige!
:wallbash:

Bumping myself... Come on ladies im sure someone knows out 21 people viewed but no suggestions geez I'm not feeling the comradely in this forum! :nono::sad:

Have you tried going to any of your local BSS? I think ordering them over the internet is gonna be hard for you get the texture you want without actually seeing it...

Are you relaxed or natural? I am relaxed, so I buy yaki textured hair only--or curly wigs (tighter curled or coiled only, not those giant fake-looking curls), which when properly styled don't look overly straight. Simiweave (formerly NewHair) at Especiallyyours.com has some yaki half-wigs that look like relaxed 4-type hair. I have the Cheri, which looks like a razor cut. Everyone thinks it's mine; looks as natural as I'd expect a wig could. They just added some pretty new styles as well.

I absolutely will not wear a silky wig. IMO, we sisters look funny trying to rock smooth, shiny Asian-type hair; I don't think even freshly relaxed hair looks like that. But that's just me.

I have found that curly synthetic hair tends to look more natural on me than the straighter human hair. I buy textured half wigs and i have to work w/them to make them look more natural. First I soak them in vinegar and water to remove the shine, I rinse and let them dry. Then I usually (depends on texture) brush gently through the wig to make it look more rough/kind of frizzy like my own hair. It's important not to over do the brushing though or it will end up looking a mess. When I wear the wig I slick my hair back and leave the front out, I wear a head band to cover where the half wig starts. I have a couple of half wig pic in my fotki under weaves and headwraps.

Okay that sounds like a plan since I have the #8004 already... Dumb question but do you add equal parts for vinegar and water to take shine out?

ETA: I just saw 8004 and it looks nothing like what I suggested. I forgot to ask you what hairstyle are you looking for?

That is a good idea. I've been looking for a half wig too but they look too 'weavy' to me. I think I could make it work if I can remove the shine.

No, I fill up by bathroom sink and only add a few capfuls of vinegar to a sink full of water, my bathroom sink is very small though. Look at the portion of this video on braids called removing the alkaline base, this is wear I got the info from, she gives better instructions than I can http://growafrohairlong.com/videoplaits.html

For the wig you purchased you could also try picking the curls apart a little so they look a little more natural. I think it will look fine, it is a cute wig.

I got this one. I brushed out the curls a little and its perfect.

I was actually going to buy this one...I really liked :yep:..but didn't feel like dealing with UPS and the extra shipping right now with my budget, may get in the near future though..

I actually bought the Sensationnel HZ 8004 and I love it.. :)

I've been rocking weaves since back in the day and wigs since '04...
getting a early hand in the added hair game...I just know lil things to do to make wigs/weaves more realistic looking.

With the 8004, I brushed it out with my Denman...
Condition washed it with Pantene and air dried.

I curl and straighten hair to blend in with it...
when I oiled my hair, some of the oil saturated into the wig...
and it just looks more blended in - looks like a braidout..

will be rocking until touch up time in October...
