Well we had a few drinks and then we decided to go shopping at kmart...I walked down the hair color aisle...Before I knew it I was rinsing out what was supposed gently lift my natural medium brown color and add some warn golden tones...It actually darkened my hair to a deep dark brown...I know I know!

so this color isn't horrible but its just not what i wanted. i am going to keep it this color because i don't want to cause anymore stress to my hair. its darker and it feels a little dry so i am DCing as i type. when i restore my moisture i plan to flat iron it. i usually do an acv rinse before- will that fade the color?? and also should i do a light protein treatment being that i just colored? TIA ladies!

If you think you need to restore some of the protein that you lost, but it all depends on what your hair needs. You say that it's dry so I'm just guessing it needs more moisture.

sorry :giggle: :giggle: @ dont drink and color......

girl I hope you like it at least though :spinning:

I'm not sure about protein, if it didnt lift? does it still need it, OR did it lift? I'll let the color experts answer ........

dont drink and do your hair......at all :giggle:

Do a regular DC (protein/moisture mix) in about a week depending on how your hair feels, I'd at least do a lightish protein (Aphogee 2 min, Aveda DR Treatment), if you get products for colour treated hair that would help your hair cuticles lay back down (the ACV rinses are good for this too) enjoy your colour! (Next time to lift gently you may want to try Clairol Luminize:yep:)

Do a moisture DC because color dries the hair out. It will help. Then probably, next week, you can do a Protein treatment.

Sorry no advice here, but I DID drink and color once.

I left the highlighting kit on too long, and ended up with bright orange fried chicken color streaks on top of black!!! I ran out of the house at 2 a.m., all stores were closed--no walmart here-- and had to buy a box of "Palty" Japanese hair dye with a cartoon girl on the cover. I just bought Black and prayed. It turned out super super Black, but that was ok, the next morning we had pictures at work. So I was saved by Palty!

I can say Deep Condition to save your strands!!! I think that's the only reason my fried chicken parts didn't break off.

oh for the op, i would suggest both a moisturizing dc, then if your hair feels blah then try a light -medium protein.
