Wow...what a drastic change! :spinning: Congrats on your BC.

I think you made a good choice...the short hair looks hot!

So hello and goodbye...you can always come back if you decide to get your grow on again.

Personally I feel that race/gender shouldn't matter.

I mean... yes it is a little strange that he would be here.

However, it's not such a big deal. I'm not taken aback. White people have difficulty dealing with their hair too.

He's not doing anything wrong. He had long hair, he wanted to know how to do it. Maybe he just liked it here.

As a minority, I feel that if I really want to end racism, part of it is my job. How would you feel if people said they were confused by you because you went and joined a predominantly white hair site?

I'm not angry or upset in the least... just saying.

No one is saying it's wrong or they don't want him here; we just found it a little odd. What does it have to do with racism?

OP, I like short hair...especially on men!:yep: It looks good and it really brings out your features. I like it better that way!

What was your hair regimen and products?
Did you start from no hair?

I think you look much better with short hair, but the long hair was nice.
ETA--What made you pick this site and why did you never post?!

Anyways, bye! You'll probally be growing it back out shortly

I've explained myself already. But in answer to your question if the site said - 'Dedicated to White Hair Care' or something along those lines,I would not be offended if someone was surprised that I paid $5 to join. I have no problem with OP being here, as I said its the www and I didnt think being confused and saying so was in anyway racist....its not that serious.

I'm not angry or upset in the least either - so glad we can put this past us and focus on OP's big chop.

Bless.

I was surprised not because he was a white man (because white men can have hair textures that are similiar to those of AA women/men). I was more surprised because his before picture showed what seems like beautiful, thick, long and healthy locks. So I was like "What did he need it in the first place for?" But like I said, I don't know the whole story, that's probably not his true before picture. For all we know, he probably had some pretty jacked up hair and LHCF helped bring him through it lol. Anyways, I would've said the same thing if it was a black woman with hair like that. Whatever the case, he's kinda sexy!

Love the long locs -

Love your spirit for showing us how important diversity is - even on a hair care forum.

You are cute with the long, wavy hair but you are very handsome with the short cut. Keep us posted on your hair progress and if you ever need advice or suggestions, you know where to look. We'll be here!

take care

People assuming that something is up and asking if it's a real post... being confused just because he's posting. I honestly don't think that would have happened if he was a black guy.

Again, I'm not mad at anyone or accusing anyone of being an outright racist.

Now, I don't want this thread to turn ugly. I'll stop at that. If anyone feels the need to respond to me about this post or my previous post, you can im me if you'd like.

In a way it is. Not being mean or anything. But the reason why you say you are confused what was that based on again?

Exactly, sheeesh! Somebody ALWAYS gotta take it there.

I'm sure if he was BLACKETY BLACK BLACK BLACK some people would still be surprised cause he's *drumroll*..... A MAN! The fact that he's non-black is just gravy :lachen:

What a random thread.

Like someone said, you wouldn't expect a white guy to be on a forum dedicated to helping women of color (specifically black)to grow their hair. Typically, white and black people have different hair. It's not racism, just shock/surprise.

It would and it has.

You look great either way. Good idea to BC before school so you can cut back on the time you devote to styling your hair.

"Can you tell me about your gorgeous cuddly kitty?" asks the crazy cat lady. "Boy or girl? How old? How long have you been purrpa to him/her?"

Nice hair cut! usually I hate it when people cut their hair, but this looks nice.

But its just hair and we have all learned here that all hair requires the same care. Moisture, deep conditioning, retention etc.. I guess Im one of the few not suprised he is here. Im sad he is leaving. OP feel free to come back whenever you feel the need.

But then why do we have LHCF...

But then why do we have LHCF...

Because a lot of us were taught that our hair is different (somewhat alien) therefore damaging it with heat, lack of care and just plain ignoring it was the what we needed to do. It takes sites like LHCF to teach us that is just hair it requires the same care and attention to thrive as everyone else's hair. To me our hair is not different in make up its just the texture is more coily than others. But due to miseducation a lot of us never learned that.

I didn't realize we had a male member :look: . Your cut is very lovely, I think it looks better short. I'm glad u found the forum helpful and u know where to come if u decide to grow out again.

I like ur hair cut UR A CUTIE!!!!!!!

After 4 years, a few trims, I finally decided to lop it all off:

What confuses me most is where have you been? Why so quiet? we only had one man on here that would talk to us and that was BlkManWithSomeSense.

I miss him.
with all the drama on here, like for instance...now. I can see why he hasn't. maybe he was nervous about standing out, being a man, and everything else.plus he probably doesn't know about all technical girly stuff to comment enough. I mean he might, but I am just speculating.

Oneya its not drama its a friendly exchange of opinions. No need for drama. I do hope we attract more male member. I know we have a few. I pray he learned a lot from us about haircare and everything else in general. God be with him on his new journey.

Actually, we got along very well with him. He helped me through a pretty rough time with his advice (although I was stubborn). I think he got into it with a certain member and left.
.:look:
