I need to "switch thiings up a bit" with my regimen and could use some suggestions for a new moisturizer...I think I've got too much protein in my life :look:

SUGGESTIONS??

Are you natural or relaxed?

Just wondering....

She's been natural since 2002. :p

My favorite is S Curl when I'm wearing my hair out. I don't use it daily. I use it twice on wash day--soon after wash in the AM and then at night, and then with nightly bagging, I don't have to apply it again till wash day. Hair stays moist and soft without being icky sticky.

I've stumble across a mixture of AVG, glycerin and distilled water in a spray bottle. My hair loves it. It feels so lovely. And it never feels greasy. Just touchable soft.

Just curious--does S curl have alot of glycerin in it? Becuz it seems like alot of naturals have success with glycerin...

And how'd you know I've been natural since 02?? ;)

Yep, S-Curl has a lot of glycerin. The full ingredients are: Water, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Acetamide MEA, Ceteth-20, Olealkonium Chloride, Stearalkonium Chloride, Panthenol, Simethicone, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Fragrance.

How do I know you've been natural since 02? Just a lucky guess. It's not like I go around stalking people with gorgeous hair or anyfin like dat. That'd be kinda creepy. :drunk:

Nonie... The Stalker......:bouncegre

anyhoo............ I use homemade moisturizers.
I make teas, then use glycerin in the tea, along with eo's and a bit of oil.

Rosemary, etc....

Hhhmmm...what kind of teas? I don't think I've ever heard of using tea as a moisturizer before? Have you posted any threads about this? I'd love to see some recipes..

*off to do a search* :drunk:

i love aloe vera juice and glycerin together in a spray bottle as a moisturizer, then i seal with Nutiva coconut oil. my hair can stay soft all week with jsut one moisturizing session using the above ,but I do it 2 or 3 times a week and my hair feels like butta. I don't think it would be good to use it on flat-ironed hair though. I use it while bunning.

Jessicurl Weekly Deep Treatment...its light enough for a leave-in and very moisturizing...you can never use too much ...highly recommended

I need a moisturizer myself. I'm natural but I wear a press mostly and all the good ones have water which leads to reversion.

I need a creamy moisturizers I can use during the week.

i make my own mix:

8oz bottle -- fill halfway with s-curl, finish rest off with 1 part water and 1 part glycerin

yummi hair food!!

ORS Carrot Oil makes my hair feel pretty good :yep:, though the scent isn't my favorite.

Have you tried Elasta QP Recovery Oil Moisturizer? I've read that it's good for pressed hair. I plan on buying it.

I make a mix of mostly Distilled water, honeyquat(lotioncrafters.com), and a little oil which every is around.

I am so happy about hti thread i am going to buy some glycerin today and mix it with my aloe vera witha little oil. I can't wait :)

Paul Mitchell The Conditioner or Abba Nourishing are good daily leave ins. They can also be diluted if your hair is prone to build up.

I love my AVG mixture as a daily spritz. Sometimes I use glycerin, though it can be too much for my hair sometimes. Sometimes I mix in shea butter too.

I just discovered Abba Nourishing at the TJMaxx and I love it, but I've heard that the new formulation has cones in it, so I'm going to go back and buy up all the rest of it that has the old formulation.
