4a Naturals who wear half wigs

I wear half wigs and whole wigs, and I'm 4a natural.

I usually have all of my hair cornrowed underneath. With a half-wig I don't really try to blend textures. I do a few different things:

- I wear a headband or scarf over the front part, covering my hair.
- I wear the front cornrowed, remember that style, the front in cornrows and the back loose?
- I wear the clip-on bang piece from freetress equal. I love this. It can make a half wig into a full wig in only a few seconds.

I mostly have half-wigs in a straight relaxed/yaki type texture, though I do have some in loose curls, and one I just bought that has a natural/braidout texture. I will likely wear my hair out in the front and blend with that one.

I am 4a and I wear half wigs. I really like them. I prefer textured ones. I wear my hair braided underneath and leave part of the front out. I use a head band to cover the top of the fall. I have pics in my fotki under weaves and wraps.

Curly and no longer than nape length. Easier maintenance (less hair bunches up around neck) and poofy enough to hide baggied bantus underneath!

I wear them and I have not worn a straight one since I transitioned. I prefer spiural curls, waves or kinks. I have a few in my turotial album as well as my weave album. When I get home I will post the link to some that i have worn.

hmmm. interesting. I really wanted to get this one (pictured below) in a darker color, but I was worried I wouldnt be able to make it look natural. I was wondering, with these half wigs is it possible to leave a bit of the entire perimeter of your hair out and put the wig hair in a ponytail?

ooh that's cute! I've never tried the pony tail thing. I'd be too scared you could see the cap of the wig pucker or something. That may work though.

this thread is givin me ideas. maybe i'll buy some wigs/half-wigs instead of straightening.

bumpity bump bump... who else is wearin wigs.. anyone got pics?

i wear alot of them. sensationnel makes alot of really good ones that aren't crazy expensive. i have a pic of my favorite one in my fotki...i've pinned it up and worn it as a half and half, and even worn it to the beach.

I love the freetress ones. I usually wear the wavy/curly ones and nold my edges with fan. IC gel, slide on a scarf or headband and I am good to go.

I just bought this one from hairsisters.com...17.99 :yep

When I was natural for a short time, I wore half-wigs but I only wore Human Hair ones. Synthetic ones may be less expensive, but they look cheap IMO(very shiny especially in the sun) You should be able to wear straight or curly ones.

I usually wear synthetic straight ones.Sometimes I wear a curly or wavy but I typically cover all my hair by wearing a scarf or headband. IMO, the human ones do not hold up as well and are not worth the $$. I do have maybe a few of great human hair wigs but they are few and far between. I've been wearing half wigs since Sensationnel first came out with the Instant Weave back in 2002. They are my favorite brand.

I wear half wigs regularly. This one is my favorite one:

Instant Weave Synthetic Half Wig HZ-7009

I like this one esp. because it blends VERY EASILY with my natural hair in the front without having to cover it.

The straight synthetic and human wigs are usually too straight and thin and shiny to blend decently with my natural hair. I would really like to find a straight wig that would blend with my natural straight hair.

I never thought about doing a clip in bang thank you so much i'm going to get one the weekend!!

I wear half wigs and whole wigs, and I'm 4a natural.

I mostly have half-wigs in a straight relaxed/yaki type texture, though I do have some in loose curls, and one I just bought that has a natural/braidout texture. I will likely wear my hair out in the front and blend with that one.

This is kinda off topic but are half wigs really secure? I'm worried about the possibility of them flying off or something lol

mine definitely are..its one of those things where you have to actually try one on to know the secureness of it.before wearing a wig, i was scared of the possibility of them flying off..but they are really snug and secure.i've done exercise(the running/jumping etc kind) in one before.
