I just spent the last week in the Bahamas and Florida = excessive humidity. My hair seems to have taken on a softness that I've never experienced before. It also seemed to have grown a bit. Is this possible or am I having excessive humidity over-load in my brain ? I do know my skin looked and felt so much better than it does in the Arizona heat = dry w/no humidity:nono:.

My hair loves Atlanta's humidity -- absolutely loves it...While I do not necessary thrive in it, my hair does .

Nope, you aren't. I was in New Orleans for a weekend, and my hair was so happy with all the humidity, it almost danced! :lachen:

I think that's why a lot of people have growth spurts in the summer - the humidity is like an all day steam treatment!

No, u are not imagining this! We are tropical people and of course our hair would fair better in the heat. I know when me and my husband got married in barbados my hair was at it's best!
In Jamacia, my hair was better than in the States. Trinidad, my home is where my hair grows better and the texture is wonderful. Also when I gave myself a perm while in Trinidad, my hair was bombdiggy!

Perhaps this is why some of us are having so much trouble getting our hair to act right and grow to its maximum growth rate because historically we are in a climate not suited to our cultural needs... just a thought

I live in Florida and the Humdity is a killer here in the summer months. I love wearing my hair down. It is hard b/c my hair fries out:wallbash:. I am from NYC and my hair loved it however, the summer months can be just as nasty for my hair up in NYC as well. :perplexed

Whew thanks for the responses, I thought the humidity had watered my brain down. While I just loved the Bahamas and Florida, that humidity kicked my butt; when we say that the heat in Arizona is dry, some have a hard time understanding it. It's a toss up with the humidity; I just loved how my skin and hair felt, but it's really hard to handle if you're not used to it.

My hair *loves* humidity!! Everytime I go near the sea (Brighton or Eastborne, UK) my hair just thrives. Even whenI stay in London where the summer (if we ever have one) is quite humid, my hair is so soft. I don't have cur definition, so I don't care about the frizz at all.
I used to hate humidity when I was relaxed though.

I just had a lightbulb moment! I can sit in my greenhouse; the humidity in there is about 68%, I just don't know how long I'll be able to sit. Maybe if I hang a picture of hair, I can sit longer:lachen:.
