Hello ladies, I was wondering what your intake is on layers:rolleyes:. I have been thinking about cutting my hair in layers. I have worn the same hairstyle for over 8 years. My hair is just about bra strap length. It's even all over and I wanted to spice it up some..If at all possible I want to keep my length. Any and all comments are welcome.

i love love love layers. I would say cut a few at the top and leave the length in the back. Oooh and if you really want to spice it up...add some color. Oh that would be nice.:yep:

Personally, I hate layers. The only time they look good is when your hair is hanging straight down - trying to do anything else leaves you with all these hairs of different lengths that don't wanna stay up, need bobby pins to hold in place, etc, etc, etc. And since I haven't worn my hair straight down in years - *sigh*. Mind, I still have layers - natural ones, and I don't know HOW long it's going to be before I'm willing to go blunt. *sigh*

But, I think it's a personal choice - you should ask yourself if you are willing to grow them out? Are you done trying to achieve length? Because layers rarely look 'good' as they are growing out, and if you are trying to get more length, it's kinda counterproductive to have to keep getting trims to keep your layers looking good. But, if you are happy at BSL, layers might be a really good idea - you'll most likely trim off most of your additional growth keeping the layers fresh, and it'll allow you to maintain at BSL easily, too.

I like layers and when I get to WSL I am going to get long layer in the from. My face shape just won't go for one long length.

Thanks ladies.....

I think long layers would look nice plus it'll be something different to my usual look. By chance does anyone have pictures of their layer cut??

The long layers will be a great look for the length of your hair. Especially when your hair is curled, it will look gorgeous.

I've been thinking about cutting long layers too.

I've been looking at Lauren450's fotki of her hair when it was longer and her hair was beautiful :gorgeous: in layers. So I know I definitely want them, just not sure if I should get them now or wait until I reach full BSL or MBL.

No no no . . . IMO Layers are nice for a while but you'll have to keep getting them trimmed up for maintenance. Too much risk for your hair to be a canvas for a scissor happy stylist.
