And what are you doing differently this time?

It was time. A sista was looking wild with all this NG! Special shout out to BEE MINE!

I got a touch-up yesterday (ORS No Lye) and I used the half/half method again! Which is the bomb! Many hugs to whoever thought this up!!!

I mixed up a silk, collagen, panthenol, Vitamin E and protein tea treatment (for after neutralizing) Cant hurt, right?

Then I used the ORS pack and another Deep con for 1 hour.

Hair is very strong feeling right now! I think I'm going to stick with this touch-up routine.

So what are you going to try new next time around?

Hey there! :wavey:

Depending on how much more new growth I get with this Megatek, I may touchup August 22, which will put me at 10 weeks post. :yep:

Next time I think I'll try adding a little marine collagen to my relaxer. :yep: I normally just add a little oil (I relax bone straight) but I want to see what results I get w/ the mc.

I *might* give relaxing in sections a try because I think my right side processes faster than my left. So my right always winds up a lil over processed imo. Or either I'll just start with my left side first since it takes longer. I dunno. :drunk:

The Half/Half Method is to relax half of your head ( I relax the right side first) for the required time, neutralize and condition. Then move to the next side, repeating what you did previously.

It's a great way to ensure texture consistency.

The only problem you may encounter the first time is preventing the other side from getting wet.

Hey Kels! Yep! I think that's a great idea! Since your hair reacts differently on both sides it would definitely benefit you!

I've never thought about adding collagen to the relaxer. Its something to look into.:yep: Thanks for the idea.

My next touch-up is August 26...my birthday! The biggest difference between this touch-up and my previous experiences is that I have been taking care of my hair WITHOUT going to the salon. I love my stylist but my hair feels a lot better now that I've started to apply my own skills and techniques. My last touch-up was May 8...so I'll be almost 16 weeks post, which is normal for me.

Probably Saturday or Sunday. I'm not sure that I need one just yet, but I'm at 8 weeks and I've never stretched longer than that...frankly, I'm scared to in case breakage starts to kick in.

I don't think I'm going to do anything this time; sticking to my regimen and being consistent seems to work best for me. If it's not broken, don't fix it. :)

This week. I was going to wait but after todays co-wash I will have to relax soon.

I am mixing a touch of oil into my relaxer which is the only thing I am really doing differently. I will be doing a major cut afterwards so:look:

I will be touching up in about 4 weeks. I relax in 4 sections and that works well for me. I won't be doing anything different with my relaxing but I am seriously considering doing Henna and Indigo a couple of weeks after. Doing my research now.

August 1st.
I will be going from a no-lye to lye. I'm going to use Mizani Butter Blends and use Color Showers right after.

I am planning on Oct 1st. I am 4 weeks post right now so I am not gon be thinking about this for at least till labor Day

Well I relaxed last week after a 24 week stretch, so assuming I can manage to stretch that long again....hmmm, that should be the first week of January.

Can't decide if it will be Sept 25 or Dec 24 (May be trying something different for fall :sekret:)

Last relaxer was May 25..

Pretty hair!!

Good for you!! What kind of results did you experience?

I aimed for 24 weeks last time but had to stop at 20 because it became unmanageable in one week.

Oct. 4 for me, that'll be the end of my 6 month strech. I'm only relaxing 2x a year now. I'm using my same tried and true method, basing with coconut greese the week before my relaxer and coating the ends with a combo of Aphogee 2 min. recon and coconut oil. I'm using Elasta QP's lye relaxer in Mild. I think I'll finally be APL by Oct. so we'll see.

I had great results, but trust me it was only because I was wearing a sew-in the entire time and I was in Reniece's gifted hands. Had I really had to deal with all that new growth myself, my hair would be looking
like :hair:

Next touchup is October 24, a 17 week stretch :yep:

I'm going to use Hawaiian Silky no base no-lye relaxer with lithium hydroxide (thanks gym!) and I'll probably use Aphogee 2 Minute Reconstructor after neutralizing, to strengthen my hair back up :yep:

I haven't decided yet. I would love to do another 6 month stretch (ending between Christmas and New Years). But I'm using Mega Tek now, so it depends on how much NG I'll have before it gets out of control.:look:

I will be relaxing August 30th. I might do the half-half method, I'm not sure. I will do a protein treatment after. Then I'll [crossing fingers I'll get my dryer] rollerset, and flatiron.

may '09 :look:

i think i'm about 24 weeks post currently. i've been wearing a sew-in since april (not the same one :look:) and will continue to do so until may '09.

i'm also moving away for a few months, and i don't trust anybody except my stylist in chicago to do my touch ups, so i'll just wait til i get back in may to get a touch up

Tonight! Thank ya Lawd. I should be updating my fotki tonight/or tomorrow. It will be 18 weeks this week. So, I am ready for my blessings. APL in December. Let's Get it!

End of August for me. I will do nothing different (ORS normal relaxer). This will be my usual 12-week span, but I also have a family reunion. I would love to stretch longer just to see how it will turn out. Maybe next time

My next one will be the first week in September. That will be about 8 weeks for me. I cant stretch any longer than that though i wish I could.

I switched back to lye on my last touch up. I used ORS lye and my hair came out really good so i'll continue to use that. Might add a little oil to it next time.

I also tried conditioning before neutralizing the last time . I used Aphogee 2 min and i liked the results. I then neutralized and Dc'ed

thanks for the compliment...not to sound ignant, but how do you go so long b/n TUs. is your texture soft that you don't suffer breakage?

hey!! cool we're relaxing the same day! what relaxer are you using? I'm using ors no-lye and mixing some evoo in.

Next week Monday (July 28th). I'm going to my stylist. The only thing I'm doing different is coating the already relaxed hair with some sort of conditioner to protect against relaxer run off...
