OKAY... well I unhappily I report that my last relaxer has severally damaged my hair and it is breaking at an alarming rate.... I am equip to know what to do to help nourish it back to health but I want to know should I cut it

to cut or not to cut... THat is the question...........

My hair has been damaged several times before i was so knowledgeable of great hair care practices. I never once cut it, that has to be a last resort remedy for me. I would nurse my hair back to health.

Girl if i did it, so can u.

Since you know what to do to nurse it back to health, there's no need to cut it

I wouldn't cut it totally off, however as I nurse it back to health, I would trim it as I go along maybe monthly or so until it's all back to one nice even healthy looking length. I'd hate to lose all my hair all at once, you know?

seen my newest fotki album? if i was to cut off the damage and start over i'd have 4" of hair right now! i had layered sl hair when i did all my damage, but now i'm layered apl and growin. i got the breakage under control and split ends are a foreign language to me. i didn't even have ALL the knowledge i needed, jus knew to moisturize like 2-3 times a day, do protein treatments like once a week.

Geesh, who hasn't had their share of relaxer drama. I think you should cut a little at a time. I had a setback last Aug, my ends were completely over processedd and the started chipping off little by little. I thought I could nurse that hair back, but there was no saving those ends:nono:.

By the time I put on my big girl panties in March and decided to cut(I did it myself)- My hair was so uneven. Looking back, I wish that I would have even things out a long time ago.

Good luck and I hope your hair stops breaking.

girl last august i relaxed my hair and the whole middle part broke... i slowly grew it back with the help from here. I recommend apoghee like another member previously suggested. I maintained my length and cut it as it grew until the rest caught up. not i have a healthy even length. I think ont thing that helped was I didnt not relax my hair for 10 months (i tried to transition)

Try to stretch you next relaxer as long as you can. or until you see an improvement in your hair

Unless for some reason you think leaving the hair uncut would further damage your hair... just nurse it back to health.. no need to get all scissor crazy girl!
