I was hanging out with my boyfriend today and I am noticing that his hair is growin 10x faster than mine!!!! :wallbash: He tries to keep it braided or in singles then washes it when he takes them out. He doesnt do anything special with his hair but it is dry and his hair is naturally very course and thick. Now in the time it takes me to greow an inch of hair it seems like he is always 2 steps ahead help!!! I wanna make SL length soon!!!! I am a lil bit past chin length now!! WHat should I do???:nono: HELP!!!!LOL!

:lachen:You sound like me, my fiance has long braids and his hair grows like crazy, I get so mad at him sometimes. I be like "hell no you can't use my hair gel!" :lachen::lachen:

This pic below is a few years old, but his hair is about the same length, he cut it a lil over a year ago. It can get longer than the pic below though...can't stand it :wallbash:

My advice, ask him for his regimen :lachen:. No seriously, just do what he does and keep your hair well moisturised.

OT: your in the same location as me

back on topic:

the best I can tell you is to follow suit. The reason my men's hair seems to grow very fast is because they retain all the length they get by wearing it in braids, washing frequently, sometimes being active, and not trimming. Just K.I.S.S.

I think it's because men do absolutely nothing to their hair. They get it braided and that's it. Just like people who wear dreads. They get the roots twisted when the new growth comes in. After that...nothing. So I think the key here is less manipulation, more growth. And the fact that he doesn't wash it...well, this woman on my job told me her hair grows better when its dirty. Hence, she has long thick, very thick hair. She says she only washes her hair once a month if that. Or, she'll wait until her next hair appt, and from what she says..no telling when that is. She keeps it pulled back in a pony tail...go figure...

Also mens hair grows having to do with their hormone levels and how testosterone is metabolized in their bodies. I believe it has to do with testosterone metabolizing into DHT which can lead to hair loss.

hmm the groganics thing is making sense to me now.

It's quite simple. He probably isn't relaxing, abusing, roller setting, using curling and flat irons, not cutting it, keeping it protected in braids,... most important: he isn't worrying about his hair. Most men, to my knowledge, eat a ton more protein than a girl does and that may have something to do with it also.

cosign x100

:lachen::lachen: No offense taken. I lubs him, but I still get a bit jelly of the hair. I always tease him about it. But to to answer your question MissRissa, his only brother just got married 2 months ago.

Isnt this thread supposed to be about me?????LOL!j/p

:lachen: j/p Okay :lachen:

But like everyone else has said. Sometimes less is more. He only washes every 2-3 weeks, then blow dry and gets it braided right back up. But I also think it's just because men are different, they even lose weight faster and easier than us.

:lachen::lachen: :lachen: Yes that's him...long hair and all  LOL

You two make a beautiful couple!!! What's his regimen? :look:

I realized the less attention you pay to something, the better it turns out. I cannot tell you how many women I know (myself included) that are having the hardest time to get preggers. Yet, there are so many women hoping not to get pregnant, that do. I guess being nonchalant helps you get what you want! :lachen:

It just sucks. The only reason I dont wanna braid my hair because ill miss running my fingers through my hair. But its all good Ill catch up to him.... ur fiance is cute! congrats on ur engagement!!!

I know what you mean about braiding the hair. I may do it when winter comes though. Either that or lace wigs.
