How do you deal with the heat of the summer time? It was blazing hot in NYC this afternoon and I am wondering how to cope with a wig?

Any tips for those who use mass transit rather than having the comfort of the A/C in a car?

I have a cute sassy short wig. Most people think I cut my hair and love my "cut".:lachen: I take it off when I get home.

I've been wearing wigs for a few years. I have short and long wigs and I don't really notice a difference in me feeling like I'm about to burn up (and our weather is pretty mild here). I just deal with it. If you do learn a secret please share!

For those interested in wigs, or where to get new ones, here is a site...

www.katourlinewigs.com. Sommore of Queens of Comedy....when she did that show, that short haircut was a wig and this is the site where she purchased it. After I was done watching it on DVD, I paused during the credits section, and this is where I saw it.... it said something like...Sommore hair...Katour Line Wigs...check it out for those of you interested...

My hair is usually damp (bordering on wet) when I put on my wig, so maybe that helps. It was literally 109 degrees today and my head felt cool and comfortable. The rest of me was a hot sweaty mess, but the hair looked good!

This is how I feel--that it is hot and humid here regardless. I look at it the same as wearing a full sew in or I just remind myself that it's a protective style. If it helps, I alternate between wearing it down and pulling all the hair back into a low pony or low bun.

This sounds like a great idea!!! Cowashing and then topping off with the wig.

I walked home from downtown (20 minutes at a leisurely pace while texting) and I was a sweaty mess when I got home...with my new wig still in the bag. I could not imagine having had it on at the time....but with damp hair maybe:grin:

girl i feel you my friend made me a curly wig but it is too much hair on my head during this heat .. but i plan on making her make a short wig for my bday:yep:

I love wigs! Check out my fotki. I sported this short sassy wig in May of last year on vacation to visit my daughter in Maryland. The longest length wig I've worn was shoulder length and it was a flip like Farah Fawcett (another one of my faves). I do need a new variety maybe something spirally or candy curlish... I'll slap a wig on my naps in a heartbeat when they get outta hand! LOL!
