OP I think Henna gives reddish colors, there are different techniques for releasing more color. I guess for highlights just do certain sections

I wish I was this bold. I want to try some color, but I'm scared. I'm loving that raspberry and plum. What brand of color do you use? Did you have to bleach it? Myhair is a natural dull brown.

thank you! and yess the colors are fun lol..but I would never bleach my whole head or lighten it any lighter than the bronze. for the cherry cola, black, and fushia plum it's just jazzing semi perm on top of the bronze. For the purple and bue I bleached it first.

napalm orange, no photoshop needed, it really was ridiculously bright (and glowed in blacklight)

my best color imo. I'm going back to this after I finish transitioning

Awesome colors! I plan on *maybe* getting highlights again when my hair is healthier and longer. How light do you think you need to get purple/ blues/ teals to show up moderately? They don't have to be uber vivid, just noticeable. Geez, I should know this but it's been a while since I've messed with lightening and dyeing. ETA: Just realized you mentioned that you're transitioning.
