Since you are screaming for help, let me attempt to answer. I have been using the concoction of shikaki powder, alma powder, coconut oil and conditioner every week for CWs, I use shampoo once per month. My experience is that my hair is very, very strong, when I pull a shed piece and try to break it it takes some effort. Now having said that I also find my hair is rough so I need to deep condition with moisture everytime. So I think it has the potential just use lots of moisture conditioning. I am relaxed by the way. HTH

Jo.

I don't use Shikakai oil, but I've read most of the ayurvedic threads and as long as you're not incorporating too much of other products that have strong proteins in them you'll be fine.

Hopefully all the Shikakai experts will chime in.

I only use my shikakai oil twice a week to massage my scalp before I wash it out with a tea rinse. Since it's only on for 15 min I haven't noticed any effect from it alone. The tea rinse however definitely makes my hair hard, but I run conditioner throught it twice, levaing it on the second time for 10-15 min with a conditioning cap or with a regular cap and a towel wrapped around it, so the hardness goes away. Some ladies just opt for the powders instead of the oils and mix them with their regular conditioners.
I know I probably didn't help, but what do you plan to use your shikaki oil for?

Aww, you're not bothering anybody! I think a lot of peopel are still kinda new to the ayurvedic products and just don't know the answer to your question....and the people who DO know are on PM overload or just haven't seen the thread yet. (yes, I'm optimistic)
Good luck!

I have no idea why someone would give this thread one star. people are so childish. :ohwell:

OT:
lol. I NEVER rate threads. I guess I don't really understand the point. The rating doesn't actually determine whether it's good, bad or ugly. I mean, can you search by thread rating or something?

It is OK..... I am not even thinking about it anymore.
I thought it was ok to say that - there was several views with no response.....
and - there are TONS of threads about these oils and such... so I did not think it would be an issue to answer....I though there were alot of people using these oils and such.

It is all good. Most of the info that is shared on the boards, no matter what - can be helpful... sometimes folks anwser other questions when you ask something different- that can help someone else...
