I am 31 years old. I wear mainly protective styles and lately I have been trying to dress them up and add variety by using various hair clips, barettes, combs, ect. My mom and my sister both have told me that I am too old to be wearing these things. It wouldn't bother me so much except that I am single and I really want to get back into the dating scene. I am worried that my appearance may be hindering that. Do I look like a grown woman acting like a kid? Is their a magic age where your hair can have nothing other than bobbypins to hold the style?

Ghetto Cabbage Patch Kid) but you never can outgrow nice, chic hair accessories.

Once I stopped relaxing I started wearing all kinds of head bands and clips to hold my hair. I especially love flowers in my hair and I think they are age appropriate. I also put cowrie shells on my twists sometimes. In my siggy there is a flower in my fro-puff, you can hardly see it in the pic though. I think it can jazz up an otherwise simple/boring hairstyle. Now I agree the barrettes and click clacks are a don't.
