Why is the OP so concerned with how other people label their hair? *flips TEXLAXED hair on the way out of this silly thread*

Lets change some of the terms in OP's statement.
It's sillyseason in LHCF. :perplexed

Theres no such thing as co-washing, its a conditioner!!! You have now conditioned, whats wrong with saying that you have conditioned. There are people who wash and then there are people who condition, IMO, I think people who go from washing to not washing dont want to come to terms that they are not sudsing to wash their hair, oh i'm going to just co-wash, sweetie you are conditioning, you're no more washed..... Can someone please set this straight.... I know i'm going to get some mean responses, but whatever...

Personally. I like the word texlaxing. I think it clearly explains what it means. It's clever.

Now...Silkening...I don't like that one. :fistshake:I think that it is intended to lure people into thinking that they are getting a non chemical treatment.
It gives the impression that the hair will be wrapped in or coated with Silk or fairies will come sprinkle sparkling silky dust on your hair and make it silky. :nono:

ITA on the silkening. :lachen::lachen::lachen:Fairies!

Yes, it's relaxing, but it's just a description of a hair style. When "describing" ones hair as "tex-laxed" one gets a vision of say genesis132's hair style and not a "traditional (smooth)" relaxed look. Also, makes you think "wash-n-go." Tex-Lax refers to a hair style and not chemical free hair. JMO

That's like some black folx calling themselves "african american" and others calling themselves "black". In this world it all amounts to us being n***** anyway so....

:lachen::lachen::lachen:
That's what I'm saying!!!
It is still relaxing. I have yet to see anyone deny that. However, the idea of relaxing is typically to get your hair straight, yes? So intentionally leaving it on to keep TEXTURE while RELAXING it is just an easier way to say "I basically left my relaxer on for 5 minutes to loosen my curl."

Straw sets, shirley temples, they're all curls, all done by wrapping hair around a tubular device...the end result is different. No denying it's curls. Do you get what I mean? So saying "texlax" is just a way to explain that degree of what you did. :/ I don't see what the problem is.

Shooooot... *sucks teeth*

I ain't no n*****, I'm a negro and when I become a n***** I'll tell you so!

(That's something we used to say when we were kids if somebody called you a n*****)
Oh pls some ppl are offended by the word negro too,I'm a negro too:yep:

Hi, I'm wavelaxed:look:

Me too lol.
I'm texlaxed some strands in the back are curly others are just slightly wavy I'm not bonestraight at all.

:lachen:This thread is hilarious. The term is just a label so that people can be clear when they have a conversation. You know there is a difference between a liter, a deciliter and a milliliter right? Well I think of natural, texturized, texlaxed and relaxed the same way and see from reading the thread that there are others who agree. Furthermore natural is open to interpretation anyway. I remember one time I got pulled up by this chick in this store because I was perpetrating as a natural with my twist out. And don't even get me started on the color debate. Don't people have anything better to do?

^^^

:lachen: Before LHCF, natural to me was someone who wasn't wearing false hair! Then it was no relaxer or relaxer...
