Why do people call it texlaxing? it's relaxing!!

I just joined this website and at first it was very confussing to me as well. You do have a point.

If it is confusing, there is a search function and it will give a million threads talking and defining exactly what texlaxing is. Or a confused newbie can very well just start a thread inquiring about it.

But an old head, been here for 2 years..............:look:.......its suspect.

Can we call bone straight "bonelaxed"?

Just a thought.:look:
:lachen::lachen: Why did this make me laugh so hard?

OP, what prompted this thread after others have pointed you were here this long and obviously shouldn't be new to the term?

sweetie you are relaxing, you're no more natural
Did someone who is "texlaxed" try to pass their hair off as still natural since it's not "bonelaxed?" :lachen: It seems like something that would come in a person saying "I'm NOT relaxed since my hair isn't straight and I only left it on for 5 minutes"

It is still relaxing. I have yet to see anyone deny that. However, the idea of relaxing is typically to get your hair straight, yes? So intentionally leaving it on to keep TEXTURE while RELAXING it is just an easier way to say "I basically left my relaxer on for 5 minutes to loosen my curl."

Straw sets, shirley temples, they're all curls, all done by wrapping hair around a tubular device...the end result is different. No denying it's curls. Do you get what I mean? So saying "texlax" is just a way to explain that degree of what you did. :/ I don't see what the problem is.

ITA!
If I say im texlaxed, that's letting you know a little more about my regimen (basically that I still have curls/waves/spirals whateva-- Im not bone straight). People say they're texlaxed for the same reason that people list their hair types or for the same reason that people say if they use direct or indirect heat in their regimen: yeah it's all heat, but direct or indirect gives you a picture of the degree of heat used by the person. I used to have "texlaxed" in my siggy the way that others have "natural" or "relaxed." This was simply my way to tell people that Im slightly relaxed, which if you were to see pictures of my hair, the pics would back that up-- because the pics would not show that Im relaxed straight.

now that i'm even more confused, will yall help me get this straight?
youve got: Natural, Texturized, Texlaxed, Bonelaxed, and Relaxed? is that the order of texture?

I thought texlaxed meant that you are relaxed. I'm just saying. If someone says there are texlaxed we know that whatever looseness of the kink we see is due to chemicals. I don't see it as frontin' at all.

Now were you thinking something dirty?:nono2:

It has NOTHING to do with that.

Relaxed - Straight hair or hair that is like 90% straight

Texlaxed/texturized- Hair that is lightly relaxed, but nowhere near straight, not easy to get straight and has lots of texture.

Natural - no hair straightening chemical at all

Is there really a hair hierarchy?

Is having natural hair any better or wrose than having relaxed hair? - That seems to be the consensus with COMPLETE MORONS.

Exactly WHAT would someone relaxed or texturized have to be ashamed of?

There is nothing to lie or be shameful about. Texturized hair is not the same as having fully relaxed hair. It's a no brainer.

I'm sorry, but this is the most ridiculous thread I've ever seen here.

Some people will find anything to separate people and to put others down. It's just proof that people can't get over their own internal hair issues.

It's a damned shame :nono:

I'm not even mad. I'm shocked that even "enlightened" people would feel this way. I guess arseholes will be arseholes no matter what.

but... I hope you realize it's YOUR issue OP and others that may agree with you.

Don't bother replying to me. I don't want to step another foot in this stupid, ignorant thread.

YOUR HAIR LOOKS FABULOUS, SOS!!!! :yep:
OH! Thank you so much!!  Your curls are adorable in your profile...are you natural?

Poor Me-T!:lachen:I guess to make it easier, natural, texlaxed/texturized (they kinda mean the same thing, using a chemical to loosen curl, no) and relaxed. Saying "relaxed" means one automatically assumes you went bone straight, hence why people found a term to say they relaxed and kept texture. :)

No. Bonelaxed is stick straight with no texture at all...just flat. So it would come after relaxed.

The "bone" takes it to the next level.:lachen:

you know you gone have folks runnin' with this term, right? :lachen: Lawd...done...

Oh everybody hush! Who gives a pluck what someone else thinks of what you call your hair. Instead of worrying about other folks head they need to worry about theirs. Just worry about growing your hair. No ones thoughts should matter at all unless you allow it. smdh

Is the hairdon't bonelaxed or texlaxed?

:lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen:
I'm honestly still waiting for the OP to explain why she made this thread...the hostile undertones were more than just wondering...
~*Janelle~*

I dunno but there is no way to assume a whole group of ladies just must want to be in denial about their naturalness

just saying texlaxed explains that they aint saying they are natural!
