How old is your baby?
When did you start PP shedding?
How did you stop shedding?
Anyone taking Biotin and Prenatals?

My baby is 6 months old. My PP shedding began when he was about 3 months old and lasted for about 1.5 months. The shedding gradually decreased on its own. I continue to take prenatals (as well as fish oil, calcium, and vitamin D), but I don't take biotin. (My prenatals contain biotin, though.) My edges were pretty thin after all the shedding, but they are filling in really nicely.

I don't think that I've had the post-partum shedding happen yet. *knocks on wood*
I don't take biotin or prenatals, and forget to take my regular vitamins.

**I am transitioning, and don't comb everyday. When I do comb, a lot of hair comes out, but it's been that way for the whole year and a half that I've transitioned....so if I did go through the shedding thing, it went unnoticed by me**

My little girl is currently 9 months old. I went thru PP shedding it wasn't drastically noticeable. Mines didn't start till my lil girl was about 4 months old when I stopped breastfeeding her and leasted abouot 2-3 months. Not to bad. I really like my hair thickness considering my hair is fine. I have notice my texture to change after my pregnancy which is why I've been debating about going back natural.

Aww you babies are cute. Twins...I couldn't imagine having two babies kicking all around inside of me? Are they your only two? If not was it a big difference having the two inside versus one?

la mosca, thank you
geminigirl, thank you too....They are my only two, and I had a pretty easy pregnancy. The first two weeks that they were here was pretty much a big blur, but since then I haven't had a hard time at all

and I don't know what it's like to have one baby kicking you, but having two is the craziest, most amazing thing ever...there were times where I wished I had a video camera, b/c butts, knees, elbows, and head were rolling around and poking out all over the place...fun fun.

I want another one so bad! I'm going to try to wait another year or so, though.

I couldn't resist attaching a pic of my l'il guy!

How old is your baby? almost 4 months
When did you start PP shedding? when she was a little over 2 months (much sooner than with my first)
How did you stop shedding? stop it? :perplexed :lachen: I just go with the flow. However, with my first I used Nioxin shampoo and that helped a lot.
Anyone taking Biotin and Prenatals? I do take Biotin and my prenatals every night. It really hasn't helped with the shedding though. The next thing I was going to try was internal garlic as I noticed ladies mentioning that helping with their shedding due to the OCT/MT use

I'm debating calling my doc and asking what she thinks. i hate doctors. La mosca wait!!!! i have two and it's crazy. My oldest is two and my youngest 2 months.Anyways your lil guy is extra cute and big.

Thanks, Geminigirl! He's a sweetie but a handful! I bet having a 2-year-old and a 2-month-old is challenging!

What have you been experiencing with regard to shedding?

They are a handful and it is challenging but I can't wait til my son gets older so him and his sister can play. I def wish I would have waited a LIL bit longer though. But none the less it's fun.

As far as shedding I have alot. When I comb with my wide tooth there are hairs and when I finger comb there are hairs. When I washed yesterday they was a ball of hair on my back. It's getting ridiculous. I just want it to stop.

My shedding is like yours with lots of hair everywhere. It's annoying and depressing at times. I know that eventually it will get better, but I still get sad seeing all that hair. I am hoping once I start the garlic pills that will help.

I am gonna call the doc today and ask if I can take the garlic pills. Or what to take for that matter. I just don't want my hair to get any thinner then it is. I can't go back to that Nooooo...lol:spinning:

ETA: keep us updated on the garlic pills have u started them yet.

I went through the same thing. I shed huge, shocking-looking balls of hair. I was expecting some shedding, but it was kind of disturbing to actually experience it day after day. Then it gradually got better. (It's hormonal.) Fortunately, I had plenty of hair left over!
