Is my rollersetting experience normal? Any suggestions?

So...
I was under my dryer (an 1875 watts, was like $40), i had it on the lowest setting, there was only 3. Its ionic, but i dont know what the brand is anymore because it faded off. :ohwell:
Besides a Pibbs, should i have a dome dryer with higher watts? I never believe in expensive = better, but are their some must-have features, or features that make a huge difference in the more expsensive dryers?

It was SO hot under there! There was a part in the middle of my head that was getting hot, so i had to turn my head to the side a couple of times or lean forward :nono:
Is it normal for any area of your scalp thats exposed to get hot, or get the urge to move your head around? To feel like your burning up in there?:ohwell:

The sides of my hair, and the back of my hair were still kind of damp when i was done (I did 30 min, it was so hot i got up for like 5min, then did another 30 :ohwell:)
...I think i know i should have did an 1:45 right?

I was feeling my hair the whole time, becaue i wanted to know how hot my actual hair was, this seemed like it was tortue to my hair and that i should have just airdryed and flatironed. My hair felt very dry. I actually got up and moisturized a couple of roots sections and sprayed oil on my hair :perplexed
This was unnecessary wasnt it? Over-reacting and acting a d*m fool? Should you put heat-protectant on your hair or is the serum enough?

So, then i took my hair out, put some coconut oil on it because i felt like i should apoligize to my hair for this, then was occpied for 5 min...
Do you need to put anything on your hair after?

The parts that werent damp, were REALLY SOFT. Delicate soft like a baby's hair or something (LOL) It feel very smooth, and there was great shine.
It felt better than if i had airdryed and flatironed, or blowdried and flatironed.
Now, is this normal?, Or was this because of the coconut oil, and the moisturzing and oiling i did during the process ()
If so, how long does the feeling of the hair last? After i airdry and flation, it starts to feel alittle rough after 3 days...the same with rollersting?

I end up putting my hair in a bun anyway, i was just practicing for the 4th of July.

Yeah I have this issue with my dryer. It's old and cheap, but IMO it doesn't effect how my hair dries (others may disagree). The products on my hair effect how my hair dries.

I usually do at least 90 minutes under the drier myself. It depends on how long your hair is. I would recommend sitting under the dryer as long as it takes for it to dry. Damp hair causes frizzies...

I usually put some light oil (or my MN mix) on before I go under the dryer. No need for oil afterwards. And it's super soft to the touch.

HTH!

My hair is APL, the thing is, it feels dry on the outside, super dry....I guess it would be good to check every 30 min by taking one roller out and rolling it back up.
