I detangle every time I co-wash. It is never a problem for me when it comes to detangling.

See...I feel like I'm losing more hair when I co-wash....I don't want to detangle everytime I co-wash...Yet, if I don't my hair gets all matted and hand combing takes forever....It does help some when I co-wash my hair in plaits...

Just not sure if this co-washing is doing my hair more harm than good...:ohwell:

For me, I don't lose that much hair. I look at it as the shed hair that was going to come out anyway. Do you use a Denman brush?

Daily.

I'm starting to see co-washing mayb be more of a benefit to those with a true curl pattern. :ohwell:

It may be more damaging to do all that manipulation with a kinky-straight pattern. Not sure.

My hair is as thick as carpet thread so I may do well (and have to) detangle with each wash because my hair is so thick and dense.

Maybe it's a density/thickness issue in terms of how beneficial co-washing is?

I just lurve it so much, I don't want anything to be bad about it! :lachen:

Co-washing keeps my hair from being tangled. Every time I co-wash I wet my hair and apply a lot of conditioner. Then, I comb through it under the running water with a wide tooth comb.

This is actually a good question. When my hair was a little bit shorter, I HAD to detangle everytime I let water touch it. So, every co-wash was a detangling session for me.

Now that my hair is longer, I detangle once a week to every 10 days or so on the days that I actually WASH my hair. I actually don't detangle when I co-wash at all anymore.

That being said, I also have to sleep with a scarf or with hair in a low pony so that the hair in the back doesn't become a hot tangled mess.

I detangle every time I cw. Because I have a twa, it is really easy for me to dentangle with a pick every morning. I have not noticed any tangles, my hair isn't long enough yet, but there are these little balls on the ends of some of my strands(not to sure what that is all about though).

everyday tried to do low manipulation but i lost more hair than i ever have.
i co-wash once or twice a week.
shoot me down for detangling everyday but it works my hair is strong and it grows i don't loose much hair anyways

Once a week when I shampoo with a goody styling+shine brush. Everyday with my fingers when I cowash. I find this method prevents my hair from tangling excessively.

I detangle everytime I wash, yeah my hair gets too tangly if if i cowash a lot with detanger, when I detangle often I have less sheding

yes to the bolded, when I cowash in plaits I don't have to detangle, but without plaits I would have to detangle

Once a week when I DC, if I'm being lazy once every two weeks. But I'm still in the TWA stage, and don't manipulate my hair much, so it makes it a little bit easier for me to get away with that.

It used to be every time..now I'm staring to do it once a week when I DC

How does that work for you, BrockStar?

Do you wash in plaits? I ask because I don't, and last week when I didn't feel like detangling after a cowash, I sincerely regretted it when I had a mass of tangles on my hands.

I try to keep twist in my hair so I wont have to detangle. I’m w/ BrockStar I detangle when I DC to try to cut back on manipulation. So I detangle once a week, I want to work my way up to 2wks

I detangle Every Time I co wash.
I co wash Every other Day.
But i think i found a Great Moisturizer (S Curl) So i want have to Co wash So often.

I detangle/comb my hair every time I co-wash which varies from 1-3 times a week. As long as I wash/detangle my hair in braided sections I don’t have to worry about my hair tangling up.

I detangle daily with my Denman Shampoo brush in the shower. I find that conditioner makes my hair less tangled. I had to elimante conditioners with cones in them because I found that it would cause my hair to become more matted then those without. :)

Hmmm well I actually part it with my finger and start from the nape and work my way up, parting a little bit at a time and combing through. A big thing I learned was combing starting at the bottom instead of the root. Then I comb it all togetehr once I've gone through it all. Of course this all takes place under running water  HTH
