I live in Harford County.... aint nuffin but that whack Sallys and the half stocked black-owned one in Edgewood... oh and the 1 Korean 1 on 40 thats dark & dirty and even less supplied that the black owned one

if I cant wait for my visits home to NYC, I get my stuff at Monument Beauty Supply down in Baltimore... there is a decent BSS in Eastpoint Mall ( thats where I got my last stash of Surge from in fact) or I shop in PG County on my way home from work in DC area....the BSS there has a lot of HIGH END stuff as well as normal BSS stuff


What kind of stuff are ya looking for?

Beauty4U...on Route 40 in the shopping center where the Ballys and Old Country Buffet is...I always find what I'm looking for there. They sell all types of products, Aveda, Joico, Rusk, Paul Mitchell, Nexxus...I even found some Salerm 21 B5 (but that's the only dominican conditioner I've seen there). It's huge and although asian, they are super friendly and always throw in little freebies (combs, mirrors, calendar, etc).

I bought my hooded roll around dryer there for $59.99...they even had a roll around hair steamer and a fake out Pibbs...I was like

ya mean near Ellicott City?? if so, thats the place that ticked me off Saturday morning cuz someone recommended it.... I hauled butt down there and at 10am they STILL werent open.... on a Saturday at 10am every BSS needs to be open....

FWIW, there is a Indian Store on the same side of the street maybe 2 blocks up that sell Ayurvedic products ( ALma, SHikakai, etc) they MAY also sell Indigo

I didnt even know there was a BSS in Aberdeen.... the guy in Edgewood is OK... a lil pricey... other than Aphogee, he really doesnt carry much I would use... I mostly go there for rubber bands & scarves & combs for my sons cuz they lose em all the time
I went there for a blow dryer once and wanted to smack him for think Id pay that much for one

That one sux. I get most of my stuff in Ellicott City and Columbia, since its near work. There are a few in Bmore I go to. It depends on what you are looking for. Some have better selections than others.

I've only seen Denmans in Sally's. For those dryers and steamer products, I've only seen one or two here and there. I know I asked about Pibbs at one BSS and the lady said she can order it. I would only trust Sally's for those type purchases just so I can be sure I can return it should something happen. You are on the west side right? I like the one at Security.

There is a great bss in arundel mills, hanover, md. Great in terms of supply and variety, I don't know about their return policy. There is a new one that opened in halethorpe near the super walmart. It is to the far left of petco.

indian stores (not BSS') will sell ayurvedic powders, oils and soaps (henna, indigo, shikakai, neem, etc.) while asian BSS' sell the more traditional hair products and supplies.
