I wanted to know if someone could give me a walk through on Dominican hair products. I'm completely clueless. Do they work and if so which products are the best, where do you buy them from? :help: :prettyplease:

I just opened my own online bss I ship nationally and internationally. I sell both Dominican Products and Ayurvedic Products. (shameless plug) http://exoticbeautysupply.ecrater.com check me out when you get time. There's an abundance of products I can recommend but it really depends on what your hair needs.

ETA: I'm still doing data input of products so if there's something not listed that you're looking for let me know - it's possible that I have it and it's not listed yet.

Wow thanks for the quick response.

I recently did a bc to natural hair in April. I am looking for a few products to add moisture and define curls.

I love salerm 21...excellent leave in conditioner and leaves hair silky...applied when wet. Members of this baord also rave about another Dominican leave in-lacio lacio. For my hair, I need something thicker than lacio lacio, and salerm 21 is just right....excellent for rollersets or just airdrying

First...welcome to the lhcf!!

This isn't quite a walk through, but just my input!

Yes! They work great for me and my hair.
My favorite conditioners are Miss Key 10 en 1, Silicon Mix, Emergencia, Apretadora and Baba de Caracol.
All of these are moisturizing---but I use Emergencia, Apretadora and Silicon Mix for protein. The others are more moisturizing on my hair.

I love LacioLacio as my leave in.

I also love the rinses. D'Fina 11 en 1 rinse is my favorite.

My favorite shampoo (I don't use often) is the Apretol Canela y Romero~Cinnamon and Rosemary.

I've recently starting using the Apretol Cinnamon and Rosemary oil as a prepoo (oiling my scalp before washing), and it has been working well for me!

There are many, many more Dominican products out there, that work well also. You just have to find what's best for your hair type!

Now, I have read that other conditioners and brands like La Bomba mainly works well in hot climates. However, I've used it, and it my hair liked it just fine---it just isn't one of my favorites.

I buy all my Dominican products online from:
roundbrushhair.com
sickbay.biz

and I haven't purchased from this site yet---but I've heard that beautyofnewyork.com is a great spot to order from also!! They do have a great selection btw!!

There many other threads on this board regarding the various Dominican products with different opinions, so if you do a search or go back a few pages, you may find some reviews that may be helpful to you!

Also, if you click on certain conditioners/products on roundbrushhair.com, you can read the reviews on the items that you are interested in----just to help you narrow down your needs and wants!!

Also check roundbrushhair.com for product info. Most products have customer reviews as well. I wish Jenn still had her forum, there was TONS of good info!

You're gonna love it around here:yep: These ladies are great. HHG!!

I don't think anyone is really responding because your question(s) is so broad and there have been several threads about Dominican products already. I'm a DR product junkie, but I'm not really sure what you need... on roundbrushhair, like Apples and I have mentioned, you can search for products based on your hair needs (i.e., chemically treated, natural, dry, etc) but I'm not really sure how many of their products actually "enhance" curls since most of their techniques and stuff focus more on straightening or curl removal. Also, on roundbrush, there's a customer service # u can call to get help w/product recommendations. Take a look at the starter kit on the site too. HTH!
