The going rate round these parts is $70-$80. I guess because there aren't many Black folks in the area. And guess what? The work is not all that great either. This is why I started doing my own relaxers.

I'm texlaxed and I just paid $106 for a touch-up, wash, trim and blow dry. I used to get my touch-ups every 8 weeks but I've been stretching them out to at least 10 weeks. My next touch-up will not be until September. I'm not about to let my stylist get rich off of me!

I must be out of touch b/c when I was relaxed the most I EVER paid as $45 and I was mad as hellz about that! Wow $110 for a relaxer. I know I would be a self relaxer.

ETA: When I sported a "halle" cut back in the day I went to a stylist in downtown Charleston on King street and she was only charging get this....$25 for a relaxer AND a cut!!!!!! I was like . You know I was all over that since I was a broke college student at the time.

Here in London I know people who pay £110 thats $220 dollars!

!!OMG  That's ridiculous. I'm trippin over here about having to pay $65 for a touch up. I wanted to go to the salon this month, but I really don't trust hair stylists and I don't want to pay the money.

Damn i thought $50 was too much for a mizani touch-up, trim, and doobie. I buy my own relaxer and ask my mother to put it in Lord just to save a few dollars.

I picked $50.00 - $75.00 because that's what it cost almost a year ago the last time I went to the salon. This coming August will be 1 year of me doing my own relaxers. I think I take much more time and care for my own hair than any stylist ever did!

The black owned spa i go to charges 90 for a relaxer, the dominican lady I have been seeing charges 50. I get 4 touchups per year.

85-90 bucks for a touch up and trim. This includes 5 tip to the shampoo girl, when there is no shampoo gal on duty my hairdresser shampoos my hair so I just give her a 10 dollar tip. Well worth it cuz my hairdresser is EXCELLENT!

I didn't vote, my "stylist" charges $35 or 40 i can't remember, but i am my stylist now, so i guess thats free:grin:

Don't know why the AA salons charge so much, but when I use to go it was about $50 for everything and it was some sh*t I ain't even heard of that really didn't last.

For the past 10 years on and off I been going to the same Dominican salon and it's either $30 or $35 if you bring your own relaxer.

I have medium length hair and I am charged $110.00 for touch up/ rinse and trim. What about you. I get touch ups every 6 weeks too. My goal is start stretching time between touchups.

OMG THAT IS CRAZY ROBBERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I PAY NO MORE THAN $50 BUCKS

I don't see how yall do it with those high *** prices.

My stylist charges a different rate for nonregulars. My rates under her are:

-Relaxer $45
Whether its Motions, Design or Affirm..doesnt matter.
That INCLUDES a trim or updating my layers.
I can get a doobie, a somewhat intricate style, whole head twists, etc. ALL INCLUDED in that $45 price

-Rinse/Dye= FREE w/ a service if you bring your own bottle of rinse.

-Eyebrow arch=FREE w/ service. $2 if you just walk in any other time.

I always tip her $5 and i have never paid more than $50 in my life for a relaxer....aint about to start either.:nono:

im really ready to self relax and not look back.

my stylist in the bay area charges me $75 for an affirm relaxer

i went to a stylist in la/bh he was recommended here he used an affirm relaxer and charged me $110 nothing to write home about so i haven't been back since.

so im just going to invest in the butter blends system and diy the whole entire system is around $120 and it will probably last me for quite a few retouches

wow at some of these prices. I pay 35 and 40 if i get a rod set or something to that extent. I guess i'm blessed.

And my stylist uses Affirm.

I voted $50-$75 because I get charged that much for a relaxer, trim, and flat iron. Well its actually $50 on the dot!

$60 dollars at the salon but I have been doing them lately myself so abut $6 dollars but for my next one I plan on going to the salon to have it done

In the past I would pay $80 for a mizani relaxer and that included a flat iron and style. But then my stylist went on maternity leave so I had to find someone new and they charged $90 for the relaxer and a flat iron. This was way too expensive to do every 6-8 weeks, especially since I'm in college. So I decided to transition.
