Are you talking about oil-rinsing? If not what is the method you use?
I only use oils for sealing my ends, as an overnight pre-poo/hot oil treatment or oil-rinse.
But the technique I was enquiring about was literally applying your deep conditioner in sections, then appying a carrier oil over the conditioner (then leaving it in your hair for the required amount of time).
I did this type technique on Friday but I sealed the dc w/Marula oil...which I don't consider a carrier oil...Marula oil is know to be a hair moisturizer.
My purpose was to infuse more moisture into the strands.![]()
I first heard about this from kinikakes. But I have read about it in a lot of fotkis. (sp) I do this often. You don't have to use a lot of product. I will but in a it of moisturizer or conditioner and after that's worked throught but a bit of oil that layers atop the first. I will use olive, coconut, or vatika oil. HTH
I do this. I seal my DC with almond oil; I've used olive oil before, too. I can really tell a difference when i don't. It leaves my hair softer and easier to detangle.
Hmmmm, but why seal if you are wearing a cap?
Today I mixed my oil w/dc and had a totally different experience w/the products. I think the dc/oil seal technique is/was more effective for my purposes.
I'm not sure a cap seals as such but holds in moisture/heat etc.??? Just a guess..
Yep...Does the hair rinse clean afterwards? Does it feeled oiled?
So DC then seal with an oil, then rinse out with water?

Can someone explain the diff. bet. a carrier oil and a penetrating one and give examples of each??
TIA![]()
co-signing. I am off to search the forum now for examples. I have noticed that I need 'something' add/with my dc because my hair does not feel as if it has been dc at all.
