I was checking out out the Joico Moisture Recovery Treatment Balm (see pic below) and wondered if this really works or if anyone has found another product that can give immediate elasticity.

Here is the Joico info:

I know I'm a bad girl by tempting my sistas but it looks too good to be true.

Does your humectin deliver in the elasticity dept?

Gym, why did I immediately think of you when I saw this product :lachen:! You are like the Joico guru!

So did it give you good elasticity? Please do tell!!

Its like Kenra on crack  It is a very thick creamy conditioner, almost too much so atleast for my strands. I don't know if I noticed alot of elasticity but I did get alot fo softness and my hair felt more pliable.

You are a mess, Gym :lachen:!

Hmmm, now I'm curious. I tried Kenra awhile back but it didn't kick for me. I think I was looking for it to detangle a bit more.

Where did you purchase yours, Gym?

I wasn't a Kenra fan at first but now I am addicted  I got my joico balm at ulta.

BTW Since we are on the topic of conditioners.....what are you using lately? I feel like trying something new. I am a product whore I know, I can't stay faithful for nothing

Great I'll check them out this weekend.

Well, thanks to you and my other hair sisters here, I am hooked on the redken extreme conditioner and the anti-snap leave-in after every wash for my ceramide fix :yep:. I use my true love nexxus humectress for moisturizing dcs. However, I don't get much elasticity and I think I need a bit more.

i have this but i have never used it. i was thinking of co washing with it on thursday. how do you use yours? and do you think co washing with it is a good idea?
I use mine as a deep conditioner. I wouldn't co-wash with it because it's too expensive to just waste it away like that. If you want to co-wash you can try Suave Humectant or V0% Strawberries and Cream (both have been great to me). A lot of ladies also love the Herbal Essences Conditioners also.
I use mine before a rollerset and it is GREAT. It just lays my hair down smoothly and I don't even have to struggle to detangle. I have some underprocessed areas and the comb just glides through. I also used some in my spray bottle with water and my hair was SLEEK.
Another thing I love about this is that a little goes A LONGGGGGGGG way. Like this conditioner will last me for at least 3 months and this is the ONLY deep conditioner I use and I DC 2x a week.

Let me know how it works for you.

P.S. Can't wait until the Real Control line comes out...

What are ceramides? Can you name some products that have them?

I think I might try something from the extreme line when I use up the rest of my protein conditioners

:dizzy::pant::lovedrool:- See, now you ain't right Intergalacticartist! Describing hair products like that is just wrong!!

I will be looking for this product as well! Thanks for sharing.

I'm sure that Gym can explain it better but ceramides are like protein but they give needed moisture. They are very important for relaxed heads, esp no-lye users.

Here is the thread that got me curious:

This one gives a great list of products that contain ceramides:

I love you guys for reccomending that extreme line! I use the redken con every week and then follow with a moisturizing dc. Then I use the anti-snap and it melts into my hair!! My hair strands are so much stronger- NO joke!!!!!! :yep:

Every other week, I mix it with the Aphogee keratin 2 minute reconstructer. I'm in love and breakage has decreased.

I would say so!! I am in love with this product!! It does as promised and is super moisturizing as well!

I love the Joico Moisture Recovery line. I use it almost exclusively. My hair is so moisturized and lovely after using this line, I fall in love with it over and over again every 3 or 4 days!

The ION Emergency Kit from Sally's always does it for me.

Also, chelating when needed. (I have hard water and mineral build-up makes my hair brittle.) ION Clarifying treatment crystals work when I need double duty chelation. Kenra clarifying for maintenance.
