How do you maintain your HAIR REGIME when on vacation????

i just put my hair up in braids. so all i have to do is poo an co when i'm n my hotel. ugh, my next vr is in august (kenya) so i'm looking forward to be in braids the whole 1 or 2.

For my last two vacations, I did almost nothing to my hair. When I went to Vegas, I pincurled my hair every other day and slept in a satin bonnet, but did no moisturizing. My hair suffered because of it (breakage, dryness, etc). When I went to Miami, I wrapped my hair every night, and used no moisturizers, and it was fine. I think just being on vacation, relaxing, and hanging out til late made me lazy with my hair, but I have to figure out a happy medium so my hair doesn't suffer.

In the past, it was pretty easy to maintain my hair because I was relaxed. I'm currently transitioning, and I'm pretty sure it'll still be pretty easy to maintain. A bun works well for me.

I kept it in a bun BUT.....my hair was dry, dry dry when I returned home. Took a while to regain moisture...

Yeah..That's why I posed the question. Since it's almost summer and some of us will be going on vacation, I wanted to hear peoples hair care plans...

not that i had an actual reggie when i was relaxed, but it used to be ridiculous. my weekend bag was full of hair products and styling tools. that's right, i had a whole separate bag just for hair stuff... :lachen:

now i pretty much just cowash like always. since i BC'd i haven't been on any trip longer than a week so it's not like i'm missing out on any detangling days, DCs or protein treatments. :drunk:

Im going on vacation next month and need to downsize... I went away for the weekend a few weeks ago... had 1 suitcase for clothes, etc and 1 full suitcase of haircare stuff.... :wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:

in the past when i was texlaxed I'd just do the usual when on vacay:

- wash n go's and wore it curly if i went on a cruise or somewhere in the caribbean

- maxiglided straight and slept in a bonnet whenever we do vegas

this upcoming vacation to cancun in a few weeks i'm transitioning and have short layers so i think i'll braid it up so I don't have to think about it, but for my cruise in september i think i'll do the bun thing if my shortest layers are long enough, or i'll braid up again.

I usually handle my hair the same way - one of the blessings of not doing 'much' during the week. I can't slip up on taking care of myself just cuz I'm out of town, ya know? Hair, skin, body, exercise - I've gotta maintain it all.... :yep:

Phony ponys, rollersets and pinned up rollersets for me. I am trying not to carry every thing I own, but I generally take my oil mix, moisturizer, comb, brush, pins, rollers, scarf and phony ponys. They generally give me a good mix of styling options for however long I'm away.

I don't bother. A vacation is a vacation for a reason. :grinwink:

I'll slap on braids or kinky twists and be sure my hair is probably moisturized before I head out of town.

The most I'll do? Carry a spray bottle of water-oil-conditioner if I'll swim in the sea water a lot and/or bathe in the sun. A travel-size $0.99 bottle.
