I haven't used a relaxer in a while and I was wonder your opinions on the best relaxer to try or the ones I should stay away from?

i like motions and ORS for diferent reasons when i wanted to get really straight ORS did the trick without burning me and when i wanted to texlax motions left me slightly underprossed which is what i wanted

Stay away from CON ''organic'' relaxer, the worst I've EVER used! It didn't get my hair that straight, didn't come with a conditioner and the leave in made my hair hard and super tangled. A HORRIBLE experience!

The best I've used is Silk Elements. This is the only relaxer that I've used more than once. SE gets my hair straaaaaight, shiny and soft. I can't say enough good things about it! :yay:

I used mizani no-lye mixed with a tsp of coconut oil and a tsp of olice oil and my hair came out so soft and not too straight, just what I was looking for. Try it.

Nairobi is a GOOD relaxer.
Elasta QP works well for me also.
Mizani--I heard they have box relaxers but I dunno. I'd had a mishap with the conditioner and I'm still emotionally scarred. Apparently you have to buy some other conditioner or formula to mix with that one and you need a 'Mixing Chart' and....I'm a beginning 'kitchen chemist'---so it was just too much!
So I just go to my beautician for the application.

All relaxers are no-lye. There are some other good one but I can't think of them.

Silk elements was my favorite for years because I have a sensitive scalp. My hair always came out really smooth and nice. I stopped using it when I started seeing thread after thread stating that this stuff causes thinning. I started noticing some myself and wondered if it was the product or me. Jury is till out but I'm not going to chance it.

ORS underprocessed me TWICE in a row AND burned this ish out of me long before the stylist was able to even start the smoothing process. :burning: These women work FAST and don't hit my scalp at all so I know it was the ORS. No more.

PARNEVU T-Tree No-Lye Conditioning Relaxer System works like a dream! I have no idea why I was so stupid and went and tried ORS when I had already used and loved this one. I swear the ads for ORS must be something else for me to be so stupid as to switch. This relaxer is so perfect. I never get burned and my hair is ALWAYS fully processed but never overprocessed. It leaves my hair soft and silky with a lot of shine. If I ever switch again it will because I'm going to something over the top like Mizani or photo or something crazy expensive. Otherwise I'm sticking with this. :D

Cantu relaxer was such BS. I swear it was the marketing again. :nono: I thought shea butter would be really good for my hair and no this sucked. Underprocessed all around. Super dry hair all around. Breakage like a mug all around. If I were trying to go texlaxed I might give this one another try but do more to protect my already processed hair during the wash out phase. Having my NG detangled to begin with might've helped too. I was really so disappointed with this line.

Thank you ladies for the great response. I was leaning toward ORS lye relaxer
but I am not so sure now since some of you say that it underprocesses the hair.

I use Affirm. It works great for me. I have really thick hair so it works great. :grin:However, I did not like Mizani when I used it. It was like a never relaxed my hair and it was a waste of money at the hair salon.:nono:

Yes it really does! It is the worse relaxer I've used in my life. I was severely underprocessed and mad, lol!

I was under-processed as well. But you know some people use it and don't have the problem. KhandiB uses it and loves it. She normally complains of resistant hair, too. odd.

It just did not work for me. And they kill me with that little bit of shampoo they put in there. :spinning:

PROFECTIV is my relaxer of choice. I will no longer use another! :yep:

But, even that one underprocessed me once when I decided to be creative and add stuff to it, since everyone here was doing that. :look::ohwell:
