My aunt has the thinnest hair and now a bald spot, and now she's taking the wearing hats everyday!! I don't want to see her trapped in the hat thing, so what can we do to be proactive? I have already promised her weekly scalp massages, and told her about Paul Mitchell's tea tree oil shampoo to begin stimulating the blood flow to her scalp.. but what else can we do??

I agree with Drasgrl. And f it's not a medical issue, then you can start caring for her hair or take her to the Dominicans. Plus, there are so many hair growth aids such as: Minoval, Nioxin, Ovation, vitamins, etc. Good Luck.

Tell her to see a doctor. It could be a medical issue or just age or heredity.

maybe she can try nightly massages instead of weekly.

Also good diet with lots of h20.

growth aids might help too.

She def needs to see a doc and do blood tests. I had a big bald spot in my head and thin hair for a couple years (Had to do comb overs and could not part my hair in the middle- very depressing for me) before I finally went to see the Dr. and found out I am anemic (also a relaxer burn contributed to the bald spot). Supplements (eg iron tabs and other vitamins) helped but I also used a hair spray sold here in England. These helped a lot but I was still wary of parting my hair down the middle. However I started using OCT 6 weeks ago and that has also helped a lot (gonna change to megatek as it is much cheaper). I also stopped relaxing my hair in December. I can now part my hair down the middle. Hope this helps

I have a few suggestions. lenzi's request for the bald spot she will see results in a few days. Chlorella pills will cause growth and thickness and also her nails will grow beautifully. Nizoral shampoo is wonderful for shedding and scalp disorders. those products are my truth.

how are the dominicans going to help? did you mean use dominican products, or did you mean take her to a dominican salon? i'm thinking the last place she needs to be is anywhere close to a dominican salon. :look:
