Actually, no...I don't believe it. Not calling you a liar...it's just hard to believe that in 08, there's crazy white women in walmart calling black women dirty and that there are even crazier black women talking about the hippie movement...

just seems too crazy. I would have felt like I was being punked if it had happened to me.

You handled it well.

Like the other lady said, "CLEAN UP ON ISLE 4!"

Bingo! ITA!!!

Watch out for any upcoming "Candid Camera" type shows. You might be on one lol:lachen:

ur whole post is :yep::grin::lachen: but... whoa let that have been my mama if she was alive...her patience woul have gotten thrown out the window as well after that white lady stuck her funky fingers in my mom's hair she would have felt fire to the eye and a tap'n to that ***...and dared someone to say something about it... but that just says not everyone can have that much patience...folks are crazy these days and it only takes one person to wake up on the wrong side of the bed and another to cross him.
so our natural hair has to be "dirty" wow!!!

:lachen::lachen: @ fire to the eye and tap'n to the ***! I know that's right!

:blush::blush::blush:
Are you sure that's not Uncle Ruckus's wife?
I think you handled it in a classy manner, nothing to distract her from dealing with herself.

What is it with Wally World? Must be something in the air to make people lose their part time cartoon minds :nono:. Unfortunately, I can believe it. For some people it might as well be 1918 instead of 2008.

WTH!!! I'm so sorry you had this experience. Please don't let this deter you from staying natural. You treated both of them with the utmost respect because I would have wanted to :hammer::whip::brucelee:on both of them. I understand the ignorance of the white woman, but the black woman :nono:, no excuse, even if she didn't like it she shouldn't have disrespected you like that.

Wow!!! People can be so ignorant and unstable mentally!!!!!!

I'm so sorry that you were confonted with pure nonsense but you carried yourself with so much respect and dignity :yep:.

Oh God... I wish I had been there! Some people are ridiculous!

I'm glad you stood up for yourself... I would have left her with "I'm Rick James, B**CH!!"

I read this yesterday. Just want to say I am not surprised this happened in North Carolina. I have family there, and I know.....how it can be. I admire you, because in the right mood I probably would have popped her hand and I would have told her how dirty she was. As my family down there would say I would have "burned her ear and sent her on down the road." Keep your head up!

Well I was in Wal Mart picking up a t-shirt and this black lady came over and asked me was I natural I said yes. She begain with she was tired of us young folks trying to be something we are not. I kinda stared and smiled. She went on with all yall nappy headed children walking around trying to go back to the sixties and the flower child movement. I said no mam I just decieded I wanted my natural hair and I did not want to perm anymore. So she was getting loud and I was trying to not make the it any worse than it was.

Well a white lady came and started touching my hair well by now I was like what the frekin frak is going own. I grabed her arm and said please do not do that. She looks and says well its dirty anyway. Before I could say anything the black woman says you people are a disgrace to the mother land. By now I am upset and asked her how? She said walkin round got people thinking we just some nappy headed hoes with ur uncombed mess.

We are proud people and we keep ourselves up. That why that man died that Marley guy disgrace what you young fols will do to a race of strong proud epole. My children keep they hair combed and cleaned and pressed like folds is suppose to do. I said mam I am proud of who I am and what my people stood and fought for. I am sorry that you feel that your hair in its orginal state is not worthy of the love and attention you give your relaxed hair. I don't blame you for all of the hatred that you have within yourself I blame a system that you have not takent the time to get to know which is a generation that is very proud of whom and where we come from. But I will say this and leave I thank you for your struggles becuase if it was not for the struggles of those before me I would not be able to be the kween that I am today. When I walked away I told her kwaheri which means good bye in Swahilli. She just stood there with the white woman just shaking her head.
an U bleive that

Actually I cant, this story sounds so unbelievable to me...

Hey there! I am from Greenville, still living there currently.

It is amazing the amount of ignorance regarding haircare you can experience. I would like to believe it's not geographical though...a sista can dream at least.

ARR

Birdie I am from Wilson but I work in Goldsboro sadly. But people of the older generation still have shame to say the slave masters mentality. White is right and black is wack.

And it is sad when you have anothr black person judging the someone of the same race. when will we learn.

Jesus would have had to take the wheel from me.

I would have cussed out the Black woman & told her how dare she call me a nappy headed *** and in front of a white person no less. I ain't gotta do nothing but stay black and die, so she can GTFOH with telling me I need to relax my hair.

THEN, I would have snatched that white lady's hand and told her, "Don't you ever in your mayonnaise & cheese sandwich eating life touch my hair." And if she said it's dirty anyway, I would have told her "Well ****, if I'm in the haircare aisle looking for shampoo, then obviously I'm washing it if that's any business of yours. Besides you smell like you need to wash your damn mouth."

[SIGH]
Girl, you have some self-control. Do you meditate?

Yes he does:lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen:

Can U bleive that.

I can't believe it, I'm totally speechless. We are in 2008, it's amazing how there is still ignorant people in America.

You handled it very well, I don't think I would be able to say a word.

It's such a shame that there are so many people who think this way. I dont know if I would have been able to handle myself as articulatly as you did. I have a thing about speaking without thinking and I think that the Wal-Mart security task force would have had to come and restrain me :drunk:

Oh. My. GAWD!!!!!

What part of NC are you in?

I respect old people. I really do. But i would have told Grandma off from the get go.

And the white lady? There arent enough words to describe what I would say to her. The unmitigated gall!!!

My mouth was opening the whole time reading this.

How do we expect other cultures to respect us if we're the one's hurting each other.

I'm glad you stood your ground.

i take it she doesn't celebrate Kwanzaa: i can't believe they ganged up on you like that over your hair

I have no words.:nono:

Nothing like sharing something that has happened to you and needing to share/vent and getting ONE STARRED. Whoever did it is something else...sheesh. :(

oh Lawd, If I was there.........There would have been one more stereotype coming out her mouth..............."black women are violent":lachen::lachen: I can be quite swift with my hands and legs.!!!!!!!!!!
You handled it well.

WOW the nerve, I mean what gives those women the right? UNBELIEVABLE.

This ish really happened! What the hell is wrong with people. I'm appalled! You handled yourself very well. I doubt I would have been able to hold my composure. I would have went off on those women.
