Glad to know you are feeling better. I love your hair and your always-upbeat-attitude. Don't worry too much about those lost products. Trust sister - God has some product in store for you and your hair that is gonna blow your socks off. (That's what I tell myself when things don't go the way I've planned) Mega growth is coming your way. Anyway - just remember to share with us when you get that promised growth spurt.

I'm feeling a lot better now, thank you all so much for being so supportive and sharing your own experiences. It's good to know that I'm not alone and similar things have happened.

Oh and hot pepper, you are too kind, thanks for that offer, but it's ok. I just needed a little bit of support, because I was feeling weak, and was about to go off on my mother. I have kept myself from doing that, and it's because of you all with your smiley hugs and kind support.

That's terrible - I'm sorry that happened to you. I know that I would be heated as well. It sounds like something my mother would do.

This happened to me...I was sooooo stupid I had bought a bunch of stuff from Galleries Lafayette sp? phyto stuff and forgot to put them in my checked bags:wallbash:....I also had my big size lotions from bath and body,so they throw my used lotions away but the other stuff they put to the side...& I should know better I work for an airline:nono:
 
OMGosh!! So sorry to hear this!! I would have been so upset. But glad to hear you're feeling better about it. Now you'll know what to do for next time you get hair products. I'm sure your mom is probably devastated by this.
 
Awwww, I feel for you. My mom do some things at times that makes me :wallbash: but hey..., I have to forgive her:yep:. It's painful though so I an sending you a BIG HUG in case that might help a little.:spinning:

While I was in NY, I bought many hair products, over $100 worth at wholesale prices. I didn't want to fly with them, for fear of leakage, so I packed them before I left and my mother told me that she would mail them out after I got home. I had also packed a coat and a few other items (which I now cannot remember what) in that box. This is 1 month ago ok.

Anyways, my mother (who I now believe is getting senile) forgot what was in there and when she went to the post office told them that no perishable or liquids were in the boxes, mailed it snail mail, and only insured it for $25. I was wondering why I never received it after 15 days had passed, so I asked my mother about this and she told me exactly how she sent it and I just knew :whyme: that something was going to go wrong.

After the run around we finally track it down. It's been held up in Texas all of this time. Now I don't know why I couldn't be told what would happen to the package then, I just called and was told that because of a leak, and the potential of it being hazzardous, they destroy it and have destroyed mine :crybaby:She asked me what was in it, and I told her many hair products and she completely sympathized with me (t'was a sista'). Then she says, well it looks like you've got it insured... you can file a claim and get reinbursed :wallbash: Everything in that box was well over $200 worth of items (including my other goods), $25 will only reimburse me for like 2 products.

Ya'll I know that this is just material, but it is painful to know that your good hair products have been thrown into the incenerator like trash. It is very painful... my good Alter Ego garlic deep conditioner, Alter ego nequal wash, Emergencee, Keracare poo' AG Fast Food :cry3:lawd have mercy HELP!

I keep telling myself, I love my mom, I love and forgive my mom. She does not follow instruction or is perhaps getting senile, but I still love her :(

Days later...she "said", she seen a black scorpion by my (unshipped) box, grabbed MY $70 bottle of conditioner and threw it at the d/amn scorpion and "busted" the bottle open. She called me up an said, "I owe you another co".

So my heart goes out to you...remember she's your mom and you only get one of those!
 
Ouch that sux! Did you find ot about the insurance though b/c you definately should be covered for more than *just* $25 if you paid $25 in insurance. :yawn:
 
Damn girl, I really felt your pain in that post. I would have been sooo disappointed.

I had some things leak on me in my suitcase over Christmas so I make sure to triple tape everything now.

WHAT!!! Are we sure that she didn't USE that conditioner on herself?:look:
 
That's too bad. Why didn't you mail it out yourself?

Well because I packed the box Saturday evening and was leaving out early Monday morning. Post office was closed on Sunday and there was no way I'd have time on Monday, so she mailed it out midweek.

As soon as I reminded her of what was in there 2 weeks ago, she immediately felt bad, and it took everything in my body then to keep calm. Keep in mind, that I didn't know that there was a leak or it was going to be destroyed at that point. Then yesterday when I called and found out the bad news, I waited until I calmed down to tell her, but I was able to act like it wasn't a big deal. She felt really bad, wants to pay for all of the stuff, but I told her that I could not let her do that, to let it go.

Like I said before, had I not come on here first or walk around the house for a little while I would have gone off lol.

Wow I'm so sorry this happened. Being a PJ myself I truly sympathize with you. I had no idea the post office does this to packages :nono: I just sent my family some products but I never thought about the possibility of them leaking and even worse being thrown away.:sad: Just know that this experience unfortunately but fortunately happened for a reason. I think the next time around you will be very adamant about shipping, packaging, and insurance. Without realizing it you have helped and informed other ladies on what to do when sending off products. HTH
